I could pretend to be retired this week because of recovery from surgery, but due to crutches, my wife discouraged being out and about at Thursday yard sales :-(
A couple of years ago I was hobbling around on crutches. But I didn't have a wife "helping" so I ended up doing almost as many sales as when I was fit. [emoji106]
More than that the sympathy factor helped getting loading and unloading assistance.

I was momentarily disoriented at a garage sale yesterday. The tables were turned and the dialog was reversed. As I walked up the driveway, the nice woman said, “Are you looking for tools? I only have this vise.” When the dizziness subsided I bought it. Only $3

Are you using that Jedi mind trick thing again????:headscrat:bowdown:

Nice job Bagged. The new owner will be happy with your vise and the work you did. You put some hours into that one, do you open up the 4 jaw pins or keep it at 13/64 diameter?

Thanks Kevin. This Parker had rolled pins installed, so I just removed them and reused the same ones. I didn't drill out the holes at all. This one is a late 1940s early 1950s model as it doesn't have the 1930 patent date. Here is an original picture when I bought the vise.

Thanks CRS. I have an appointment on Monday to confirm PT Days.

BaggedS10, that Parker came out great. About how much profit are you looking to make on that bad boy? I mean, if you're willing to share.

You're time and effort is truly valued on this forum.

New vise at a nice price!

It was a kicker in a deal for a new scanner, with a $300 rebate and a $1295 good customer discount.

Thanks man. Rustoleum hammered black. Carefully baked to cure and clear coated as well. Hammered black is more of a charcoal as you can see.

YOU ****! I'm sure you spend a lot with them.

I saw this today and wondering if it's a real Wilton.

Any ideas
It's a Wilton tradesman. Looks like it's in good condition. Just missing the sticker which is available from Wilton. Go buy it if it's cheap.

Keep up the good work Bagged. I'll still be on the hunt in the meantime.
Thanks.

Screenshot_2015-09-18-23-17-18.jpgReed Manufacturing in Erie, PA has been owned by members of the Wright family of Erie, Pa for many decades.......The family also owns a weekend residence in Westfield, NY which is about 35 miles east of Erie.....I've toured this house a couple times and it is gorgeous.....This picture popped up on Facebook tonight and I thought I'd share it with the fans of Reed vises...

Californian vise ****. Can you name the vises? I'm working to bring some home. Have any of you ever seen any vise that can dwarf a Wilton C3???????

Last two are my new 3" Holland

Most exciting news is that I have located a 4.5" Yost vise with a rotating body, al la the Parker 474!!! I'm working to acquire it.

More pics soon

Including how to round over edges. :spit: Is TriJeff also a student of yours?

Nice, nice...:lol_hitti. It is impossible to achieve sharp edges by hand. To do it right you need a mill or shaper. We do our best. I'm working to correct this with a new tool I picked up. We"ll see if it works.

Very Cool stands !!!! Good for you :willy_nil
My guess on the ones in the back of the truck are a 956 on the plate mounting and a 976 with no base on the other one.

Ok I am going to have to take a ride to get one if there are any good ones left.
