I said PINK, not green!

Going to check out the green now.

Edit: nothing on the website. I'd imagine it's a bright fluorescent green?

Strouty just threw his wallet at TrustyCook lol.

I picked up some of the blues, so I'm good this time. It's still awesome of you guys to listen to your customers though

Who knows?
Yeah I think Strouty's going to have a seizure.

Good to know we have until the 19th.

Any idea what shade of green it'll be? (Guessing bright like the font color)

Here's a sample of the green hammers we're offering. You should "recognize" the color. We will add our label in the usual spot (probably blue).

Let me know if there are any other questions.

I would like a piston hammer so maybe I'll order a green one. I already have a green mallet but it says matco on it.

Hmm. Looking at a #7. 25%-off a red, or 20%-off a green. Is green worth paying an extra $3.75? :)

So what is the best case use for these hammers? Mostly I use a regular nail hammer and I use big all metal sledge hammers to move pieces of metal on banged up race cars at the track. What is the use case for these and how would they fit in?

never used a deadblow hammer? they're great. they don't bounce off when you hit something. soft coating means they won't mark up whatever you're hitting.

try hitting a big piece of steel with a steel sledge hammer. the hammer is gonna bounce off and you'll feel the shock. hitting the steel with a deadblow sledge hammer, the hammer is gonna stop on the steel and you won't feel any shock. (by shock, I don't mean electrical shock)

I have yet to use a brass-face deadblow

Do we just order the red pictured items and use the Green code so that you know we want a Green hammer and not red?

So if the metal is banged up on the car it's not going to tear up the face of these hammers? It looks like even some of the bigger hammers have plastic on the head of them.

Thank you for running this promo, noticed the last one on red after the promo had ended.

I'm trying to order the mechanics set and it says coupon code "GREEN20" is not valid.

It's a harder plastic, rather than a soft plastic that would tear.

You don't want to be hammering sharp metal with a deadblow, it will eventually screw up the plastic casing

OK, cool. Thanks for the clarification. Maybe I can still snag a couple for some 'gentler' persuading.

Man, Trustyhammers is on it. An American company making QUALITY tools in the USA and actually listening to the customer. Last I heard was the thread when I bought my blues with people begging for the greens. It might just be a color but heck, whens the last time you were able to post on a forum and a company actually listened. I love my labor day blues btw.

I wouldn't worry too much about "misusing" a Trusty Cook hammer.

This specimen has endured four years in an around-the-clock production environment, in the hands of welders, beating on stainless steel assemblies weighing in excess of 10,000lbs.

If you've ever handled freshly machined, unbroken stainless, you know how sharp it is.

This is four years, three shifts, of hot and sharp metal...

I forgot to take a picture of another hammer or two, to compare directly, but this hammer is actually in amazingly good shape.

The other brands of dead-blow hammers haven't fared nearly as well.

Many even have a distinct bend in the handle from hammering so forcefully that they have bent backwards over time. Out of thirty dead-blows of this kind in use, we replace about 1.5 per year that fail this way. None of the Trusty Cook hammers have failed in any way, in the five years we've been observing.

The faces also wear much faster than the Trusty Cook's do, they chip and slice bits off noticeably on the aforementioned pointy stainless. Some have worn into round noses, they've chipped so much. And we replace another 1.5 per year due to this type of wear. And again no Trusty Cook hammers have failed in this way.

All out catastrophic failures are rare from any decent brand, but we replace them before they get too worn as to be dangerous. In five years we've seen two catastrophic failures in use. Again, no Trusty Cooks.

Of course many more get mangled by people, but what can you really do about operator error via hammer? Three out of our thirty dead-blow hammers endure a novel death by dipstick welder each year.

Bottom line, they last longer than any other dead-blow hammer, they look good, they work GREAT. The handle is IMO, just right where you can hang on to the end of the handle and really whip the head into whatever it is you intend to smash.

And with the old Trusty Cook logos you could modify one of the O's in "COOK Hammer Co." to spell something else...

Cook Hammer Company is not Trusty-Cook. However, I would guess there is a company that private labels their hammers (hint, hint). Checkout our new website in a couple weeks to see the entire lineup of our private labels.

Just placed my order! Super stoked to get my green sledge.

Can you guys post any pictures of the production process? Like how the hammers are cast? Just curious to see.

Here're a few photos from today. This is a simplified version of the hot cast process: empty mold, canister in the mold, pouring the urethane into the mold, the mold is full, and the hammer after the mold comes out of the oven.

My laptop crashed the other night so I had not seen this, thanks to all the guys that PMd me. I am sure glad that the deal is going on for a few more days, my wallet is bleeding right now. I know people have asked about the blue ones, I am keeping them too.

Can't wait to place my order, all the hammers in blue and green, anyone want to buy some green snap on hammers? :lol_hitti
