I could be wrong but Bussman doesn't, to my knowledge, source from China. I've seen automotive Bussman fuses from USA, Mexico, Japan, other applications even from India and Taiwan, never China.

Tubes is a niche market these days and not a good example. Im sure there are multiple places in China making fuses. Its a big country, a lot of manufacturing overlap for many products especially to meet a high demand item like fuses.

The company I work for builds the machines that the bodies are ground on. They are plunge ground from G-10 material. I know a majority of the fuses are made in Mexico. These fuse bodies that utilize our equipment are for industrial applications.

Another on the bandwagon for the 2 pc Blackhawk USA long reach plier set off eBay for $30 shipped. Someone posted it here I forget who, but thanks. Initial impressions are I like the grips, joint very solid, made in USA. They flex which all long needle nose pliers do, and one negative the handle portion forward of the grip is sharp enough to slice a finger open on the 45 degree set. A quick deburring and it will be fine. Still think it's a good value.

I have the same set. I'll have to check if my are sharp in that area. I don't recall them being.

Actually at one point they did have fuses, they were recalled for not blowing when they should have.

Ha my father in law got that too about a year ago with HF fuses. I loled. It caught his rear brake light assembly and harness on fire.

The difference is the one pair only looks laser etched which can be a problem down the road with warranty possibly if they can't read that they are snap on

It looks like one set has wire cleaver and one has a wire cutter. I have the wire cleaver (left pair.)

They are both wire cleavers, the jaws are just slightly difference in thickness (the right one tapers down, left one is thin throughout).

My driver had gave me an awesome price on the 95th anniversary screwdrivers and I casually asked him if he had any of the pizza cutter/ice cream scooper promo's...and sure enough he handed me one today. The screwdrivers are new, but I don't have the tin tubes that they came packaged in.

The pair on the left only have it " machined" down half way, so is the Ctual crimping surface the same size on both.? From the pictures I'd say the pair on the right would have a much smaller crimp

I think they are north of 55. I have the older set and remember paying 50 for them but this was 4 years ago.

Left one allow larger surface area of crimping.

... and .... it appears to be bad ettiquette to drive several hours to a town,

... then go to the tool shop ... before going to a relations wedding.


I hope the stanley/sidchrome 1/2" drive ratchet plugs .. are as tough as the old aussie sidchrome ones.

I figured that if my old japanese 3/8" ratchet was good for 35 odd yrs of abuse ... the plastic selector switch broke,
... then some new kingtony stuff ought to last as least as long.

How wide is the crimping area compared between the two? I have a bent handle pair that I got nearly 20 years ago that I would like to have a backup for considering I can't get replacements.

If I were to guess, without having them in front of me, probably 1/8''. They are damn good, and I swear by them. I think they are made for up to 10 gauge wire, and they crimp that with ease (insulated or not).

tried them out when I got home on some 12 gauge connectors. worked nicely. Yes I think it was something like $20 off for me as well.

I found it interesting that Irega supplies adjustable wrenches to most of the top European tool brands (like Hazet, Stahlwille, Beta, etc).

Channel-Lock 810s retail for about $20, but the same Wrench in Hazet form (the 279V-10) retail for $90. Really makes these wrenches seem like an even better deal!

Yep, the channellocks are cheap and you get tons of value. I just like having the oem version most of the time and I always prefer black everything. Good pickup.
