I nhave a vintage Coolair 8 blade belt driven whole house fan, 48" dia, 20" pulley. I want to use it as an outdoor box-type shop/patio fan.

The original sales bulletin from 1941 shows 405 R.P.M. with a 1-1/2 H.P. motor, but no mention of the motor R.P.M. I have a 3/4 H.P. 1745 R.P.M. motor on there with a small( about 2") pulley. I don't know the blade R.P.M., but it doesn't move a lot of air. My 36" 6 blade moves way more, with a 1/3 H.P. 1745. Would a 3/4 H.P. 3450 with a 2-1/2" pulley be a wise choice? I found one for $99.
