I got a good condition DeWalt DC390 6 1/2" circular saw off craigslist. When I attempted to change the blade, I stripped the retaining bolt. My first thought is to go to Fastenal to look for a longer bolt but if that doesn't work, is the arbor easily replaceable? If so, does anyone have a link to a part supplier? I'm not scared to tear it apart myself if I can find parts as the saw is absolutely useless to me as it is now.

Based on the drawing it looks like it would be an easy replacement, however it is $28
Might want to try to buy a junker unit to rob the parts from and then sell off the rest of the parts unit to someone else

The bolt is a M8 x 1.25 LH. Left handed!?!? Wtf DeWalt?!? Fastenal doesn't have one nor can they get it. Anyone know where I can get a LEFT HAND THREAD M8x1.25 bolt on the internet? A brand new bare tool on Amazon is $99. If I can't find a longer bolt I may take the damn thing apart and try to drill out and retap it for a normal thread.

A "left side blade" (aka left handed) circular saw, will always have a left hand thread bolt.
If you stripped the bolt, why are you wanting to replace the arbor?

Duly noted. The bolt is fine, the arbor is stripped.
What battery does that one take? Still have this one in the classifieds http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210301

All my stuff is 18v. I do have one old 12v drill but the batteries are hosed.
