Great scoring that washer. I looked at 2 stores, one had 2 in Stock, the other one had 4 in Stock, at least in their computer inventory. Well, I looked and had the worker there look.. No where in sight. The garden section manager said those were gone long time ago when they were at $150 or so. So no luck for me..

Success! I checked my new store and found a pressure washer hiding up top! Had a clearance tag of $299 down from $329 and had the guy scan just to be sure. He started laughing and asked if I wanted it. When I got to the checkout lady, she saw the yellow tag and said that is a great deal, I told her she had no idea! When she saw the price after scanning, she said I must have had inside help finding this....

This same store got me a chainsaw, blower, and now a pressure washer for under $150!

So was it a penny?

Didn't realize these pressure washers were Homelite... most Homelite stuff seems like garbage at HD. But hey, for $29 you can't go wrong. The fact that it's a Honda engine actually makes it look good.. Honda makes some reliable stuff.

These pressure washers comes with problems. You can't stored these in the shed or garage without pump lubricant/antifreeze during winter time. Based on reviews and youtube videos, many people are having issues with these units. Maybe that is why HD is getting rid of them. $29 is worth it, but not for $200.

Wouldn't the same go for any pressure washer?

Pretty much. If there is any water left in ANYTHING during the winter, it will freeze and cause issues.

Just run the gas tank dry, then use a short garden hose from a jug of RV antifreeze into the pump inlet, then pull the starter cord several times. That should pull the antifreeze in and you are set for the winter.

Its not like we have no other tools that need winterizing.

Which store location was this?

Central Plano. I was fooled by the Homelite box at first since I was looking for a Honda pressure washer. I looked on the computer again and saw it was in fact a Homelite with a Honda engine. I did buy the extended warranty since it was only $7 but Im not sure what it covers.

It was $29. I got the blower for $60 since it was missing a couple of the pipes but the local power equipment shop had them. I also got the chainsaw for $65-10% since it was a display. All the parts were in the box though.

That's a solid deal there!

I don't care what manufacturer it is, or how much you paid for it... that applies to EVERY pressure washer.

Water freezes in expensive tools, just like it does in cheap ones.

During the winter, I keep my pressure washer (w/50' of hose) and my garden hose reel (w/100' of hose) in the back room of my garage (insulated, but not heated back there). Every year in late October, I hook up the pressure washer to a jug of antifreeze, dump some Stabil in the tank, fire it up and cycle the pump until the antifreeze is coming out of the gun, let the motor run for a minute or two longer, and shut it down. Then I disconnect the hose reel from the house spigot, and blow all the water out of it and the pressure washer hose, with the compressor, connect the two ends of the garden hose together, the two ends of the pressure washer hose together, and roll all of it into the back room. Bam. Done til spring.

Done that for 8-10 years now, and have never had a single problem with the pressure washer.

I don't consider Mass to be part of this country lol. Massholes are a different breed of humans. Apparently you don't fit in in that state lol

I went to the northern Nashua store today. I actually had to buy something. But I didnt bother even going to the computers because I knew Spn1025 has probably already been through the store. I never have luck anyway. I bought my stuff at full price and left.

The backpack sprayers are STILL out there. Just found one in Mount Laurel, NJ. 01¢ :rocker::rocker: I also grabbed a 3/4hp garage door opener for a penny. Mixed in with the 1 1/4hp ones. Was a good day.

Almost forgot. Found a Suncast Small Deck Box (50 gallon) in Cherry Hill for a penny. Model DB5500J. Sorry. Don't have the sku. The plastic with the sticker was so filthy, it went in the trash right outside the sliding doors.

They're getting rid of them because there's a new model out. Still Homelite 2700 PSI with the Honda motor. I didn't compare them, closely, but they look pretty identical except for the SKU.

By the way, anyone in the Euless, TX area, computer stock showed 2 of the pressure washers but I couldn't find them. I recruited five HD associates to help look and we came up empty. Checked the immediate area and stacks, paint, compressors, tool rental, green house and all clearance sections.

Wasn't a total loss though. I was able to score a Chamberlain 930EV for free after a slight tete-a-tete with the manager. It was marked display, but hopefully everything is in there. If not I have extra parts for my 750WF.

Anyone have a pic of the box of the pressure washer on clearance so I can compare? Store near me has 1 in the system, found what appears to be 3 newer ones up high and I can't see sku numbers on the box. Thanks

The Homelites at the stores around here look nothing like the one for $29. They are much bigger. Now the Ryobi one looks pretty much identical to the $29 Homelite.

True. I noticed PMs from a lot of people I have never seen post on this thread... I would say probably 80% of the people I gave access to have never posted in this thread...

I still take the notes on my phone then update the sheet when I get back to the office on Monday.

This.

I go to my local home depot at least once a week. They are not good with the penny deals. I'd like to continue having access to the list. I do go and look but most of the time no luck. I look for items on the sheet there and any others that look like they could be a penny. My store is just lazy i guess

I think the reason they clearance stuff out on a regular basis is because if they keep a pressure washer for 2 years somebody will buy the same model they bought 2 years ago and ruined and return it in the new box. Also, after a couple years you will see more bad reviews as the things wear out and need to be replaced.
