I have what seems like a weird one, the remote runs the door, but the wall button doesn't, except for maybe 1 in a 100 times. I bought a replacement, and that didn't fix it. Any ideas? Hate to replace the whole thing for a button.

I would do this. Get some simple lamp cord, and run a temporary set of wires to the new button, just let it hang down from the opener for testing.

Now you can verify whether the existing wiring and connections are good or bad.

My guess would be on a loose connection, it could be at the opener itself. Next up would be a broken or nicked wire somewhere in the existing run to the button.

Did you try crossing the wires when you removed the switch? If it works all the time then, it's the switch. Regular doorbell switches won't work on my door for some reason, had to be a door switch.

I had this happen once a few years back. One of the wire terminals on the back of the motor unit on the ceiling had come loose (or never been properly tightened), making it work intermittently. Tightened it back up, fine ever since.

I have some wire somewhere, so I'll try the new button with some temp new wire. Weathers turning, time to get back into the garage as outdoor stuff is winding up.
