Hey Everyone! This seems like a pretty awesome forum with lots of help and great advice. I have been lurking now for a bit and have seen some AMAZING garages in the process.

I am starting to try and plan the layout and build for the 2 car garage I will now have in the house my wife and I are in the process of buying.

The first thing I want to do is prep the floor and epoxy it, after that definitely paint and then starting to look at shelving and a workbench. I will need to build a new surfboard rack setup for 7-8 boards, hang 3 bikes, store golf clubs, a Vespa, and several Go-Peds.

I've included some pics for you guys to get an idea of the layout and to possibly help with some ideas on how to best utilize the space.

Looking forward to being a part of the forum and learning as much as I can!

I am going to tear out all of the built in shelves to make room for the surfboards and then maybe free standing shelving

This is built in underneath the stairs in the front of the garage

Welcome to The Garage from Oceanside. You'll probably be asked this sooner or later, what part of socal are you at? You definitely want cabinets, I moved last year and have 0 cabinets in garage....it *****.

Surfboards and mopeds....you need a rack that a buddy of mine builds that carry's his boards on his moped. Message me if you're interested and I'll get you hooked up.

Thanks! I am from Newport Beach and our new house is just down the street in Costa Mesa. I think Cabinets are a definitely good idea and there should be more wall space once I get rid of the built-ins.

That would be awesome! When summertime comes around parking at the beach becomes non-existant for us because of the tourists so the Vespa is a lifesaver. Getting some surfboard racks on it would be great.

Cool, I grew up in OC, worked at the top of Superior Ave for 10 years, very familiar with the area.
