So I've been contemplating buying some new screwdrivers and noticed that Wiha carries a Heavy duty screwdriver with a striking cap and hex bolster.

They look pretty cool but I was wondering what their warranty is like compared to the lets say Snap-On will they warranty there handles or are you basically screwed :bounce: once their beat and have to buy new ones

Oh and I'm not looking at other brands. I have the Wiha insulated drivers and I've been happy, but I could see that handles may not last to long. So Before I buy any more of these, I'm just curious as to any real world experiences for the long haul.

I didn't know Wiha made any drivers with striking caps like that.

I think those are direct competitors to the Wera Chiseldrivers and the Klein Demolition drivers and the like. I broke a tip off a Wera Chiseldriver using it as a chisel and they replaced it without any issue. I'd expect Wiha would be at least as good as that. I searched around a bit but couldn't find anything "official" from Wiha stating their intended use. Despite the name, I think the Wera's are mostly intended as a sort of half way in between a screwdriver and an impact screwdriver.

I don't think any of these are really intended for use as a chisel, but maybe someone else can find something more concrete from Wiha. While I was searching though I found Klein suggesting using their demolition drivers to hammer into a utility pole and be used to hang tool bags from!

I figure they could work quite well here in the Northeast rust belt it seems like they would be very easy to tap on with a hammer to remove rust and hopfully loosen screws with shock having the hex bolster just seems like an added bonus.

Finky198,

Here is a link to Wiha Tools warranty policy: LINK.

As long as the screwdriver is not used as a pry bar or a chisel, the warranty is still in effect on it.
