Got these yesterday in my garage sale haul. Curious if anyone knows Wright dating system or have used these? Is this a good ratchet? Details? Any help on dating etc would be great. I'd love any input on Wright products in general. I'm either going to start collecting SK or Wright...not sure. Input appreciated. Also value wise where do you put these two pieces? One more thing anyone ever use the Wright 10pt sockets? Got a set of those too. Never seen them before. Thanks!

re: "I'd love any input on Wright products in general."

used to be primo stuff. see my recent post in the "3/4" drive breaker bar" thread HERE: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5234900&highlight=wright#post5234900
that socket set I gave to my buddy was mostly Wright - set was owned by "Grandpa", who was a machinist's mate on a ship during WWII. something tells me if it was good enough to keep a ship going in a theater of war, it's probably fairly good quality.
but I digress....
the ratchet appears to be later production, so I cannot offer an opinion there.
that bar looks like a sliding-T handle missing the "T" part. (best guess)

well.... lot of kids out there have no clue what they've got.
also got from the same kid - for $20, as I recall - an oldie slide-hammer puller complete with all the jaws and attachments. can't recall the brand. might well have been Wright. was also one of Grandpa's toys.
buddy has all the provenance stuff stuffed into the bottom of the socket tray - I wrote it all down - name of ship and all that.

couple weeks ago I picked up a whole box of stuff off CL for $20 or $25 (?) bucks. all I was after was a decent corded electric drill motor.
drill was a little "Makita" 3/8" chuck VSR model.
also in the box: tray of 13 1/2" 12-point US-made sockets (mish-mash), two old 1/2" drive ratchets (a Penens and a Walden), and a bunch of other stuff I haven't even really taken a look at yet.

couple years ago found an ad on CL. was just looking for a few metric combination wrenches.
guy needed money for a pack of cigarettes. this was about 11 at night when he posted the ad.
drove across town with $32 in my pocket. came home with 10 brand new Craftsman metric combination wrenches, a full set of new CM "pick" tools, a couple 3/8" drive wobbly sockets, and a 3/8" drive CM ratchet.

CL = way mo' betta (and sometimes even funnier) than Ebay.

Dating system is easy. The 2 number system is the year produced.

I have heard of the 10pt but never seen you have to post picks. The ratchet is good both s-k and wright are good I like to collect whatever is more available in your area. That ratchet is sometime referee to as a tootsie roll ratchet because of the grip. But all in all nice pick up.

I have a Wright 4400 1/2" drive ratchet. I have had it since the middle 70's, it's never failed me, and is my go to 1/2" ratchet
