Well, just got my reply from Echo.

Subject
Purchased new, missing parts

Response By Email (Kristina) (11/02/2015 08:25 AM)

Good Morning,

Thank you for your email to ECHO Incorporated! The parts listed per your e-mail are available through any Authorized ECHO Dealer. However, if the parts were missing from the original packaging, please contact the dealer from where it was purchased in order to obtain the missing items. To locate the nearest Authorized ECHO Servicing Dealer, please contact our dealer referral line at 1-800-432-ECHO (3246), or visit our web site at http://www.echo-usa.com/Store-Locator

Sincerely,
Kristina

pretty much the response I was expecting. why HD corporate lied to me is beyond me..

I had problems with homelite csr too....They asked how much I paid...I told her $29....She saids no way they were going to send me missing parts for that price paid.... I told her...store told me call homelite for missing parts..and that store at time told me either buy it at clearance price of $29 or they were going to send the pressure washer back to homelite for store credit....And it kind of makes sense for HD to get store credit....

I then told her to ask her supervisor....mins later...they said they were going to send missing parts...but its just this one time as customer gesture... they asked for serial number to verify the unit....

But yeah...if lots of people are suddenly calling echo or other company about missing parts from store display sale....then afterwhile...they are going to deny or try to get out of it..

but really... I think they rather send the missing parts then have HD send back the unit for full price store credit....

Picked up a PB-500T today, missed it the first go round looked around for other items, something told me to go back by the blowers and I did miss it. It was right in front with the newer models (knucklehead). The box was torn up and had a re-cond sticker with a $220.00 price.
Went up to the self pay and the lady rang it up for me and it had a penny amount. Lady said she has to check and came back with a number and rang it up for $80.03. didn't make a be deal, just happy to find one at that price.
Got home and the receipt said a different sku# , maybe because it was a re-cond? called the original store and was on hold twice for 10 minutes so I hung up.
Anyway called HD Customer service and explained, the guy was very polite and said he was sorry I was on hold with the local store and ask how he could help me as a valued customer, just ask why it rang up for $80.03 and was missing two cable holders. He said that he would sent me a gift card for $50 dollars. I said that is more than fair..

Anyway I'm a happy camper and will go back and buy some more stuff in Home Depot..

I don't think it's any business of the company to ask what price the item was bought at. That's between HD and the customer. For them to even mention something like that is ridiculous. On the other hand, it should be HD's problem for selling the item with missing parts, not the company's fault. But still, the price paid for the item has NOTHING to do with them honoring their warranty.

Its Monday, so like between today and Friday? Sorry - I am new at this. Computer showed 100.03 earlier today.

Yes. You should likely see the price change by tomorrow though. Everything should be updated by then.

Not a clearance deal and probably deserves its own thread (again) but the 100/150 off another cordless tool deal is back. Started yesterday, ends Jan 16, 2016.

Man I wish I could see them sub retail. All 5 stores near me are full price on 490s and 590s.

I hear you! I know where there are about 8 to 10 of those at 4 different stores. All full price. One store even had them marked as a "NEW" model. I also have seen them on Craigslist being sold by people that are less than an hour away from me. Grrrrrr.

HD corp threatened me with a lawsuit

I had an email from them this morning with copies of all the receipts of purchases of penny items I have made over the past 4 months, questioning how I came to find them.

If you think they aren't watching, think again...:eyecrazy:

Ryobi 18v chain saw $30.03

I don't know if it's any good, and I would bet that it isn't for heavy cutting, but Home Depot has their Ryobi 10" 18v chain saw with a lithium battery & charger on clearance for $30.03

I would have responded with

"I know your inventory better than you do"

:)
