truss bearing point tolerance (truss noob)

Hi All

Doing my first truss roof in a few weeks. Still haven't decided between scissor and common truss (24ft). I digress. Is there any tolerance or wiggle room on bearing points. For example if my sheathing comes up to top of 2nd top plate, is it going to did the tail, or will there be, say, 1/2 inch either way (in case sheathing gets in way, or framing is off a little).

Typically u leave the sheathing 3/4" below the top of the top plate. That way you got something left to staple your windwash to so your ceiling insulation doesnt fall out of the attic into the soffit.

You can spec the truss span to be whatever dimension needed. Spec 24'-1" and that would accommodate the 1/2" sheathing. My scissor trusses were 24' and my sheathing added the 1". The truss came able to accommodate the extra width without compensating.

Thanks a lot, esp for pic! I guess, worst case, gotta use my oscillating saw to notch out sheathing at 12 locations if sheathing gets in way
