Interestingly enough, the fine print this year specifically states cordless lighting does not qualify.

But at least this time they put specific dates on it. Last year it seemed hush hush for some reason.

Which is odd because there are a couple of Milwaukee lights that worked when I tested adding them to the cart. The M18 Flood light and M12 lantern both triggered the discount.

Yeah Im wondering just what they meant by cordless lighting. Maybe just regular C or D-cell flashlights? :)

I really need that cordless m18 1/2 impact wrench baretool
Is it better to get it with the $150 off combo or $100 one
I don't see a need for m18 impact driver for my work ever but the difference is only $50 if I buy the more expensive kit you pay $100 more but extra $50 off.

Plus the bigger hammer drill is better

You can add the stuff to your cart to figure it out, but most likely the cheapest way to do this will be to buy the large dewalt kit ($369 IIRC) along with the impact. Then return the DeWalt kit.

This assumes you aren't interested in any other tools. Also note the the expensive M18 kit is second gen Fuel vs the entry level brushless of the cheaper kit.

Dont they remove the discount when you return?

Last year, the discount was applied across all eligible items on the receipt.

So buy the kit + another item and the 100 (or 150) is split based on the %-age each of the purchased items takes up on the receipt.

You could then return the kit and keep the other item at the discounted price.

Before anyone goes nuts.....Home Depot corporate and managers knew this was happening and didnt stop it.

do i have to buy same brand?? could i buy one brand kit and then another bare and return kit then

Post 12 and 14 explain it all. You can also do exactly what you describe on the website yourself to confirm. It does work if you mix brands.

Hmm. It doesn't look like the 2454-22 or 2454-20 unless I'm doing something wrong.

It's not wide open to "any other tool" so some things are excluded. The best way is to just play around with the website and add the items you're interested in to the cart to see how prices will break down and if items are actually included in the promo. For the most part though, clicking through the promo items seems to filter down to all included items from each brand, and there's not that many different items so you should be able to make it through them fairly quickly to see if what you want is there.

Also note that last year there was some variation between what stores would allow and what the website allowed, so if you really want something that isn't working on the website, it's worth a trip to the local store to see if it'll work in person.

FWIW, your specific tool did not work when I tried it.

honestly, the only thing i really want is the 1/2" fuel high torque impact.. i think id even settle for the regular m18 version, but it kinda doesnt make sense given the close difference in prices.. it'll hardly ever see use, but im going on my 3rd Milwaukee heated jacket, and i own almost every other Milwaukee cordless tool i could ever need in m18 or m12 so why not.. the excuse i tell myself is its a 20 - 25 year tool, so it "pays" to splurge sometimes..

So basically if you want the add-on item you pair it with the least expensive kit for the biggest discount, then return the kit.

If you want the actual kit you pair it with the least expensive add on item then you return said add on item for the biggest discount.

Yep!

I havent tried it in store to see if applies to as many things as it did last year....Im thinking (hoping?) it does. Granted, I went nuts last year and replaced most of my Ryobi and all of my Ridgid stuff with Milwaukee during this promo.

One of the AirStrike nailers wouldnt be bad to have.

If anyone is thinking about getting into the Milwaukee M12 line this is a screaming deal.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...Driver-and-Impact-Combo-Kit-2597-22/204848126

Pair it with the $369 Dewalt combo kit and the price drops the $146.

I'm thinking about getting it just to replace my early and well used m12 non-fuel tools.

M12 Grease gun kit is also a good buy @ $121 (after price reduction)

IIRC, last year right at the beginning and right at the end of the 100/150 off promo, there were a bunch of good overlapping deals just like the M12 you posted here. So the best time to take advantage would be now and towards the end of Jan.

I remember the free M12 tool promo overlapped right at the end of the 100/150 off promo. Got a M12 Fuel Hackzall kit REAL cheap along with a free M12 ratchet.

I remember there being overlapping deals, but can't believe I missed out on combining the M12 BOGO deal AND the $150 off! That's a crazy deal!

This deal last year put me on the "no returns" list forever. For those who plan to return one of the items and only keep 1, DON'T USE STORE CREDIT AT ALL TO PAY FOR THE ITEMS!! By me using gift cards to continually purchase/return during this promo, I wasn't allowed to return anything for 90 days..... after 90 days, I tried again, still not allowed. After Customer Care looking into it for 2 weeks (they called me several times during that span to ask me questions), I still am not allowed to return anything to HD.

Point of the story, be careful with this deal, and don't use store credit or lose your receipt.

Ouch, that sux.

FWIW, I only used my Home Depot credit card. And even without the receipt, just have them swipe the card and attempt to process the return. If its on the card and returnable (i.e. within 90 days), it gets creditted right back to the card.

I "used" this promo so many times that way they definitely wont blacklist you even without receipt, as long as you can give them the card you put it on.

That is amazing, I was wondering about that but thought it would be too good to be true.

Are you able to order the BOGO online then return the kit in store?

Yep....the DeWalt kit was OOS on the web, but the second least expensive was in stock (Makita)

Ordered for in store pickup: Makita kit + M12 Fuel Hackzall kit w/free M12 ratchet. Went to the store, "refused" the Makita kit and kept the other stuff.

They creditted me for the Makita kit on the spot. I think the Hackzall kit and free ratchet came out to something like 150.

Purposely picked the ratchet because it had the highest resale value on Feebay, sold it for 80.

EDIT: just looked up the order. It was placed on 2/1/15. I wonder if the promo was supposed to end but wasnt "turned off" yet, and thats why it all overlapped.
