That is an amazing build up. I've been hooked on this site for days since I found it, and this is one of my favorites as well.

Concho Valley Corvette Club

It was "Spontaneous Sunday" for the club and they decided to drop in!
Nine Corvettes in all. Ten including mine inside the garage.

Update:
I have ordered the letters to put the words "MARFAK LUBRICATION" and "WASHING" over the bays. They should be in next week.

Also, thanks to you guys for the last few complements on my shop!

Finally got the letters up over the bays.

And some news!
I was contacted by a magazine that is doing an special issue called Great Garage Makeovers and my shop is going to be included.
They sent a professional photographer who spent about 6 hours taking photos.

Cool, I'm glad they were interested and contacted you - by far you have one of the best builds on the site.

If I'm ever down your way, I would love to stop by for my own photo shoot of your place, if you'll allow it. I've got some ideas. Maybe you should rent out the place to some local car clubs for some extra cash.

That book on Ultimate Garages is a great one! I have read and re- read it a dozen times. My wife bought it for me but she is still surprised that I actually did our garage over to be as "ultimate" as I could afford

Very inspiring to see something like this come to life. One of these would look perfect between the two bays:

Oh... I didn't even consider that fact it would be a decoration. Derr..

Would be handy to have a tank and actual working pump though. Most farms I worked at had gas and diesel pumps on site.

Where did the stars come from? I have been looking for a big one to put on the front of my house.

Years ago when my uncle was still running his farm, I marveled at the big fuel tank on stilts he had by the barn. Just pull ye old' FarmAll up and top it off. Be great to have your own working pump outside the shop door. More cash outlay, but you could fill it up when prices dip.

Awesome idea, but I'd shudder to think what the environmental restrictions would be, especially because he has water wells. But we all can dream...

Roger, I'm moving to Goodfellow in a month and I'd love to see it in person if you have the time.

Beautiful job! I love the air meter out front.. great for friends who need a quick shot (or the lawn tractor). LOL

The idea about the oil can display is a good one too.. I'd set one up outside the door near the pump. The attendant of yesteryear would be able to easily grab one for a top off (in the days of "May I check your oil, sir?")

That is a great turn out! You restoration skills are top notch. Themed shops are definitely worth the effort and time spent on them!

Thanks!
It is really a joy working in my shop. It was well worth the work and investment to me.
Just last month I bought a '55 Chevy 2dr hardtop that needs a total restoration. The body is in the workroom and I am sandblasting the frame and should be done with that today.

I'll let you all know when the magazine hits the stands.

I'm sure you are right Sammy. We have the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality which is a very strict regulatory agency that oversees this kind of stuff and I would wager that having an underground or above ground gasoline storage tank on a residential property would be illegal. I wouldn't like it if a neighbor of mine did it either.

I assume you are at Goodfellow now. Sure, you can see my shop. PM me when you get a chance.
Things are a little messy right now however since I've got my '55 Chevy in a million pieces.

Very very impressive roger55, love the 50's and I am planning to do something kinda like that for my office on the second floor of my garage rebuilt. Not as big and intricate though. You did an amazing job, it gives me hope that one day I'll be able to set on a project like yours. Kudos to you roger55 you are a great inspiration ! ! ! thanks for sharing, can't wait for mine to finally take shape ...

It doesn't snow very often here in San Angelo so I thought I would post a picture from this morning.

Please excuse the mess. I am in the middle of remodeling the kitchen and dining room inside the house and everything is a little scattered around right now.

We are featuring this garage in Our Winter Issue of The Garage Slab magazine. It is very well done and the old replica pumps are cool!

Check some of these old stations for ideas. http://www.ohiobarns.com/othersites/gas/gas.html

This should be a sticky, time well wasted

Getting scary how the age creeps up, I remember using air pumps just like that, and the mechanical dispensing coke machine. Anyone remember the one where you lifted the lid like a camping cooler, the bottles sat upright, usually packed with ice water, and were locked in with rows off steel slots. You put your coin in and slid the bottle to the release opening. Ah, old age, aint it grande:wtf:

Shops in the snow always look better. Even mine! I love your shop. How is the 55 chevy coming you mentioned earlier?

Thanks!

On the '55 hardtop, I've got the body off the frame and sandblasted and epoxy primed the frame. I've also started assembling the suspension. Been doing some work on the body as well.

I've got the body in the work room and the frame in the main shop area.
Check out some of the pictures in my album when you get a chance. The first couple of photos where the body is on a rotisserie were taken at the shop where I bought the car. The quarters, rockers and floors were at the shop before I bought it.
