Turned a pinch bar into a crow bar / pry bar by heating with the forge and straightening it on the anvil and untwisting it in the vise. Cleaned it up with the mean wire wheel and tore some boards off the dormers with my new toy.
Cut up a whole bunch of pvc boards and re-covered the fascia and soffit on the dormers. So nice to have one more painting task dead.

Fought with the ATV u-joints as they are a bear to grease. Ended up putting the darn ATV on jack stands and crawling around. Still have one to do which may require a needle and removal of a tire.

Organize, make room, store things and organize some more, and then a small electrolysis project (which I will finish tomorrow).

I installed 180ft of smartscreen gutter guard, most of it on the house but i did the garage too. Hopefully I'll never have to clean gutters again!
I'm more sore and tired than I've ever been from working on the ladder all day, my feet are even sore from standing on the ladder rungs. It feels so good to be sore from working, I've worked in an office for 10 years and don't get to do this work like I used to.

Had some help and leveled the 8000 lb lathe within .001 best I can tell. Precision level is accurate with in .0005 in 1 inches so at 15 feet I'm out about .018? Ony took about 3 1/2 hrs with young helper who gets up and down easily:) Phase converter panel has shipped and should arrive Tuesday. May actually see this thing run next week!

Disassembled the carbs and put them in Pine Sol.

Remnants of green gas was left in them and the slides were seized up. Fortunately the rubber bellows were OK.

I pulled the bodies of the carbs out after for hours and rinsed and dried them. The screws and other metal parts will soak tonight and tomorrow. Many parts will get powder coated before assembly.

Made some more progress on fixing my truck. Got a new transmission cooler line installed, the new thermostat housing installed and did another pressure test. Found out I have another leak from the temperature sensors that go into the new housing. Can't buy new o-rings by themselves; have to buy new sensors...

Changed the chains, sprockets, guides, tensioners and seals on my Bmw E91 diesel.
I had to remove the engine because the chains are on the back of the engine. Changed the clutch and dual mass flywheel as well.

Added some more parts to my Stovebolt blower motor mock up on Saturday - carb adaptor plate for Carter & Holley four-barrels, 600 CFM Carter AFB modified for blower use, Finned air cleaner and finned "Chevrolet" side cover, all with stainless steel socket bolts (installed with anti-seize so I can get them out again). Also got a replacement 8 mm, 3" blower belt and this one fits.

Sawed up a whole lot of treated lumber to make the supporting trim for soon-to-be vinyl window trim.
Grace ice n water shield on a roof joint and started to put the barrier layer on the roof prior to steel.
It's amazing how long it takes me to get things done as I get older. And how sore I get. Knees are nicely swollen from climbing ladders and kneeling on roof. Almost can't wait for winter. Drywall is easier.

They came out not bad. The Pine Sol dulls the finish, but a lot of parts will be powder coated, except the body.

I'm going to put a bit of time polishing them, then maybe a bit of clear coat.

The frame is fully dry now.

Needs a bit of sanding then paint!

Is having the timing assembly on the back of the engine another wonderful innovation by BMW or is it pretty common for diesel engines?

How many miles are on the car? Curious to know as I've heard that these motors are pretty bulletproof.

I was under the impression t8 32w were led?!?!?! Ill have to look into diff options now. I wonder if my local costco have the ones everyone is buying.

Btw does the wrap around cover aid in diffusing light at all?

Thx for the heads up.

My son and I Fixed a sticky control dampener in his girlfriends Ford Focus. Who knew you had to dismantle half the dash to get to it.

Finished greasing the ATV. Dang that front u-joint is awkward to get at.....ended up taking off a wheel and using a needle adapter.

That was my thought... I would have went hangers so you would have some weight bearing capacity. Toenails you're relying a lot on those nails and the roof not shifting...
Toe screwed i guess you can say, hangers around extremities, at over 11 ft up i wont be storing anything too heavy.
Are those just toe nailed? No hangers?

Here I sit at 5:45 am waiting for the parts store to open. Last night as I'm pulling into the driveway I see the battery light is on. Quick check shows 11.8v running. Too late to feel like doing anything last night so out to the shop at 5 am. Pretty easy, had it off in 20 minutes. Changed the fuel filter since I had time. Now just sucking down coffee.
