Before GJ, I had some sense of reason when it came to tools, but I've gotten to the point where I rationalize impulse purchases like Knipex ESD safe tweezers because they were 'only $13'. Oy! ec23589a19d0b6a142dfbf3d7d6100b4.jpg

Also, it's not exactly new tools, but I'm doing electrical work at a manufacturing plant right now upgrading PLCs and doing some housekeeping, so I warrantied some of my Klein Kurve strippers that were getting quite dull and got some new dies for my Crimpmaster, and well as a new set of Ideal 30-429 crimpers. b49fb41f37d7c9f45ad26ec40fbd8efc.jpg

Out of curiosity - what are you working on regularly that you have a pin spanner wrench in the open on your magnetic tool bar?

I understand this one rather well, especially when it's tweezers or cutters (electronics work). :bounce:

FWIW, those appear to be made by VOMM (only tweezer manufacturer in Germany; they're also the ODM for Wiha).

Good to know, because I was really sweating whether I should go with Wiha or Knipex. Unfortunately, this set has a much finer point than I was anticipating. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I may have to get something more blunt soon, as well as some reverse type. We'll see how they do with semiconductors.

One of the best deals I've ever gotten. A Napa SER 2265 bearing splitter. No idea on exact size but it's the biggest one I own now.

My buddy just paid me the $300 I loaned him 3 days ago, with a Harley and gave me these to say thanks. Wiliams USA 3/8 and 1/4. That is better than loan shark rates.

I want to know which one stripper you like better! I have those exact katapults, but I thought about trying the new auto-adjusting strippers.
Just used Katapults for the first time today, so it's hard to say, but so far I like them a lot, for one specific application. When I have a wire I want to tap and cannot cut, and I have very little room, it worked marvelous. The automatic will always be my go-to though. To me it's the fastest, easiest style and always makes a clean cut without breaking strands.

Bought this hammer set yesterday. Sorry, it's a stock photo. Didn't remember or have time to take an actual pic of it at work. 121938ae1c448ebca90d353a7b18b1a9.jpg

Nothing too exciting this week. Picked up the 1/4 and 1/2 of the new Harbor Freight composite ratchets and got a free pocket screwdriver from the snap on guy.

I picked up my first good set of screw drivers. My previous set was a mix of old usa made craftsmen (which i liked but were a mixed set) and the Harbor Freight set. The craftsmen are great but not having a full set of them sucked. The HF were...ok. The tips are way to soft though and a few started rounding out on me.

USA-made 72 tooth ratcheting wrenches!

These wrenches have very compact open ends. Below is a comparison between the 12mm Craftsman and a 12mm, made in Taiwan Gearwrench ratcheting wrench. The Taiwan-made Gearwrench wrenches are by no means "lobster-clawed" on their open ends, but they are still a good bit larger than the Craftsman Industrials.

New to the forums. First set of real tools for me. Prior to this it was a Husky 4 in 1 screwdriver I've used for years.
Excellent choice.

My co-worker has these. Seriously great hammers. They are made by Stanley, for those guys who would rather buy them from Home Depot.
