Saw a Snapon branded retractable cord reel and flourescent worklight for around $50. Made in Indonesia.

The paint was already flaking on some of the raised letters in the Snapon logos on the pieces, and they were still securely in the box.

Nothing more than just a promotional items. Some Ace hardware store sell the same thing with the Snap-On name. I don't know why better tool companies do this. Seems to me like it would be much more detrimental to the integrity of the brand than anything else. Channellock has done this as well by lending it's name to a series of cheap chinese junk tool sets being sold at Sams Club.

I bought a Snap-On worklight at Autozone that was labeled "Cordless Worklight". I thought it was a rechargeable light because it's labeled cordless and was fairly heavy (internal battery weight I thought). It turned out that it's actually a regular light that just doesn't come with a power cord. Not only is it not rechargeable, it's not usable unless you have an extension cord that fits it lights recessed socket (for example an extension cord with three outlets on the end would not fit and the light won't work). The quality was quite poor and labeling it as "cordless" is deceptive at best. It's baffling why Snap-On would ever allow their name to be used on this product.

Oh... the wunnerful pressure washer... proudly made in the PRC, has now arrived at my local Costco. What a depressing sight to see ... a great company like SnapOn letting their good name go to hell.

I was wondering why snap-on would liscence their name for this ****, but then again, they are making their tools in china now, so I guess they don't care.

Thread bump.

Who made the SnapOn branded Pressure Washer sold at Costco a while back? I used it once -- didn't find it could clean a dirty shop floor to my liking. I'm in the market for another pressure washer to clean shop floors - I'm seeing a lot of electric ones that might do the trick like this this one from Mighty Clean available at Northern Tool:

But want to avoid whatever the OEM model for the SO rebadged job was -- a lot of them look similar (which isn't surprising). Just curious.

That pressure washer is made by a delightful little 8 year old boy named Xing.

So what? :dunno:

If Xing isn't making the pressure washer, he'd starve to death (and maybe his whole family as well). There's no hand outs, child benefits or welfare in China. If you're poor, you work. Kids born into poverty has no money for education either so going to school is not their priority.

Yeah I have this light and it is really great! It feels well made and is heavy for its size. I would highly recommend it!

Bought the floor verison LED job light. It's just licensed by Snap On and the owner's manual says ALLTRADE.
