Behold this lovely piece of pig iron or very early steel. No marks of any kind. The vinegar bath might reveal some later on but i doubt it. Has anyone seen one of these before?
Yes. Looks like a Coes. Coes Wrench Company made in Mass. I have a couple of the rusted beasts myself. I don't think they are worth much, but pretty cool nonetheless.

A 'Google Patents' search for monkey wrench will reveal a zillion different designs .
It'd be interesting to see if that particular design was patented.
Other than the missing handle plate it looks to be in great shape.
