Surprise points don't show up in your normal points total. They are separate.

Yes, but you need to point out that you have surprise points.
Also, unlike regular points, surprise points may have restrictions. Generally, you can only apply one set of surprise points per transaction (though they can be combined with regular rewards points), and oftentimes, they require a minimum purchase, and may be limited to one department.

i.e. Regular points are like cash. Surprise points are more like coupons.

Anyway, when you're looking at your point balance, there should be a link to see your surprise points. It will contain a list of all of your available surprise point packages (and each one's expiration).
