You found that at a Habitat Re-Store? I've never seen a tool that wasn't like a rusted putty knife or a hacksaw at mine.

Nice find, I cruise our Re-store on pay day just in case I find that special something. I've come out empty handed but the ladies that work their are super nice and I like looking through the old coffee cups and what not too.

Ha ha. At first I read this as "Something that I'll [Restore find today]" As I'm read the replies, I'm thinking, where does it say he found it at a Re-store ? Maybe I need to have another cup of coffee.
With that said, NICE FIND DREAMER
I guess I need to check out our local store and see what they might have.

Great find I really like those vintage sets in the metal case like that one. I don’t currently own any like that but I really like them. This does inspire me to keep searching though. Thanks for sharing.

The ReStore by me is awesome. I've yet to leave there without something good. I was there today actually and for $7 I got a pair of Channelock 420, another set of slip joint pliers that are US made, Stanley USA utility knife, Stanley USA wood rasp, Nicholson USA 8" round ******* file and a 3D cell Maglite. I'll have to get a picture of everything I've bought over the past month or so, $40ish dollars and everything has been great stuff.

A few years ago I answered an ad for a boat for sale, talked to the guy and he told me to meet him at the Restore on the way to my cabin. We met, turns out he's the manager, followed him to his house to look. Me thinks I figured out where all the good, larger item stuff goes! Had all kinds of cool **** at his house.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying the vintage 1976 Fisher wood stove the minute I saw it a few years ago.

Good working and looking stoves, my brother heats his entire 2K Sq ft house with one, and we have on of the little ones in my Mom's Cabin, that keeps it almost to warm

Nice set. with 2 great ratchets. you did good for $12

My local Restore has nothing but junk in it. every now and then something good pops up but 9 outta 10 runs is a bust.

Very nice, always liked the double door models, I think that is a called a "papa bear" if IIRC. My brothers is a single door and the one at the cabin is a smaller single door.

Cool find for a great price. I found a 1/2" Powr Kraft ratchet, 1/2" x 6", and 3/8" x 3" extension in the ReStore in Wake Forest couple weeks ago. Paid $10.

I dropped by my local Habitat ReStore on Friday hoping to find some stuff for this thread. As luck would have it, they had added more stuff to their totes full of wrenches and sockets - which I typically scour twice a week.

Friday's haul (28 total items @ $.50/ea)

The partial Challenger combination wrench set looks identical to my P&C set - am wondering if they were made in the same factory here in Oregon.

The unmarked open ended wrenches are exceptional quality and condition.

The Plomb wrenches are my favorite.

The Indestro is only interesting to me because it's metric. I'm not sure of the vintage but am guessing this represents an early metric wrench.

The Buhl wrench is one I have never heard of before.

The sockets are vintage New Britain and SK

Not bad for $14!!

I'm willing to bet some of the stuff that gets donated to ReStore never makes it on the books and goes home with employees before it ever hits the sales floor.

Just for kicks are a few other items I picked up at ReStore over the past few weeks -

Vintage Craftsman sockets.
Plomb sockets including a 3/4 drive impact and 1/2 drive 8-point.
Hinsdale 1/2 drive 1 1/4" socket
Heller Hammer
Plumb BP hammer

The hammers were $2/ea and the sockets $.50/ea

I'm certain that's a problem with all non-profit thrift stores. To eliminate all fraud, one would have to eliminate the human race!
