This is the best I have seen for this tool. I have one and while I don't use it all the time, I think it is very good quality...especially for the price. I would rather have the Milwaukee M12 version but that is around twice as much for just the bare tool. This is slightly big and bulky, but feels very robust. I don't mess with their Max Axess sockets. It comes with a standard 3/8 adapter that I put in when I bought it and have never taken it out.

I've passed on this up to this point. But since it's the whole kit (I should be able to sell the battery and charger that I don't need for $40), I had $15 in surprise points and was able to use a $10 back in points coupon after filler, I decided why not. It will basically be free, and it will give me the chance to try it. I still don't think I'll care for it, but it's worth a shot at least.

Is this verified as coming w/ the battery and charger? It doesnt really spell that out unless I'm missing it.

it's the kit... if it was a bare tool it would say "add-on tool"

if you click view full description it says "With reliable fade-free 19.2 Volt lithium-ion battery"

so i'm going to wager that it does include the battery and charger

Thanks OP. I don't know how much I'll use it, but for the price I'll try it out.

It comes with one. Wish it loaded from the other direction, though.

^ ^ What do you mean by this ??

Doesn't the cordless ratchet have full power for Forward and Reverse ??

Or you talking about "left hand" setup of the 3/8" adapter ??

The Max Access sockets attach from the bottom side, but the 3/8" adapter goes thru the top side of the ratchet. If you bump it while putting it on a nut with a standard socket, it may knock the adapter back out thru the top. Still a good enough price for me to try one tho.

I really haven't had that problem. I've used the adapter exclusively and have never had it come lose. It seems like it's in there so well, I guess I just assumed it locks in. Are you sure it's seated completely?

Or, similar, if you put more than a little downward force on it, the adapter (& socket) will come out the backside. i.e., the adapter is usable, but could've been designed better.

I've had this for a year or so. Like here, got it for a really good price. Between the low torque and big battery on the bottom, it's somewhat limited, but has come in handy a few times. Works when -

* Regular impact wont fit
* Battery at the bottom doesn't create "access" issues
* Lots of torque isn't needed (or wanted)

e.g., working in an engine bay. Although even then, I've had to break loose some nuts / bolts by hand & then use this to finish the job.

I did get a set of the max axess sockes as well, so that does add a feature to it (i.e., backing out a nut on a long bolt, etc.).

Yes, it does come with the battery and charger. Saw it today at a parts/surplus store.

They must be getting rid of these. This is the lowest I've seen.

Don't worry, if it's a cool, unique or useful tool Cman will discontinue it. The Nextec inflator and fluorescent work light being perfect examples. The new Craftsman heated jackets are surprisingly nice and as such I'm expecting them to be discontinued next year or switch to a much worse design. "If you're Craftsman, it's just what you do."

I picked mine up today. Had to order it for store pickup. It came with the adapter and 3 sockets. I looked for a max axess socket set. But only had them in sets with the ratchet

Grabbed mine for very little with points and I already have the 1/2 impact C3. Debating if I really need this thing though. Also don't like that I can literally hold the thing from spinning by grabbing the 3/8 adapter with my fingers. It hammers, but I can hold it from spinning.

12V Milwaukee ratchets have similar torque ratings (30-35 ft-lb) but the 19.2V CM should hammer longer in your hand at less cost.

If your invested in C3 the deal is good for the charger+battery at least

This is a great deal. If you have C3 tools the charger and battery alone are a good deal. The Max Acess Ratchet is a nice tool - not as practical as say the Milwaukee M12 3/8 ratchet, but still should be useful in certain situations. Bottom line I have one of these tools and I like it better than I thought I would - it's worth the buy.

Does anyone know if there's a 3/8 adapter that will fit Kobalt pass thru sockets? I made the mistake of ordering online from Lowe's again (I thought it would get past them) and they snatched em up. Stock around here is running pretty low.

Indeed. I can't find any in stock around here unfortunately. Ebay looks pretty barren as well for the 3/8ths. I might have to drive a bit to see if I can track one down.

I will check the Lowes around here and see if I can find an extra. There's still a good bit of the pass through odd singles in several of the local stores.

Thank you! I just got that max axess ratchet and I've been looking all over for an adapter that would work with the kobalt pass thrus. I'll check one more store tomorrow to see if I can find it to save you the trip. I'll update around the afternoon on Saturday or so.

I just picked up the kit I ordered for my dad. The battery wasn't wrapped or really packaged at all, just kinda put in the box. Anyone else experience this? Everything looks new, and the ratchet head is still wrapped in a shrink-wrap plastic.

Overall a helluva kit for $40, although damn those C3 batts are huge compared to M18. Also the battery is surprisingly lightweight, which just makes it feel cheap in the hand.
