I tend to do a lot of wiring repairs in harness' or wire bundles. I am looking for a 10-22 AWG uninsulated **** connector crimper needle nose style with no cutting edge in front.

I have found these Matco MST700E 3 PIECE MINI STRIPPER / CUTTER / CRIMP PLIERS SET
I would like some input on their quality. They also still seem to be a little bulky and do not look to have a ton of leverage.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

blue point used to have a crimper that was a T on the business side. I loved that thing until the handles got bent from over crimping. They since discontinued it I believe but it was great for tight spots.

For tight spots where you need something long and at 90 degrees, believe it or not, try an old sawset tool. Excellent crimper for those situations.

I read through that post a long while back. The aviation style are great except for when you are in a tight spot. I always solder mine anyway so the crimp is mainly to hold it while i solder it.

These are what I use and the angle versions too http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CDDB81C/?tag=atomicindus08-20

These definitely look promising. I was still hoping for something closer to the nose but, I may end up buying these cause they do look good.

There are many designs most of which appear way to bulky can you be more specific.

Trust me the 2 I linked are the best I have used in tight places. And I have used them all. These 2 even get used in non tight places.

Those are for insulated terminals. For that, they aren't bad, I use the inner position for everything for increased leverage since it's the same size, and it takes good hand strength to make a solid crimp. They are much smaller than anything else I have seen. The handle insulation will eventually wear through if you are making proper crimps. That style stripper can nick the wire, not good, but the handle insulators make good spares for the crimpers. Found mine at Sears, don't know if they still carry them. For non-insulated terminals, I use these unless a specialty crimper is called for.

If you are soldering the wires anyway, use splice clips, but in the 18-22ga range, I would just twist the wires together and solder.

For most applications, insulated heatshrink **** connectors work very well without having to screw around with a soldering iron in tight places.

The OTC 5950S is a clone of the Snap On PWCS7CF:

The same plier can also be found as the VIM WS57. Snap On's offering is the only USA made of the bunch; the other two come from Taiwan (without the Snap On price). Also as far as I know, only OTC produces the "bent" version mentioned by Brownsfan.

Thought I'd pass this along so you know your color options. ;)

It is. The snap on handles are WAY BETTER . The OTC is also half the price. The otc are in my road bad the Snap-On is in the shop box. If snap on makes a angled version I'm buying them immediately.

The angled version come in extremely handy. More than I ever thought. I also have the angled full size version. They named it the Crimp Well and those are USA made.

I inquired about those at my local Napa. No one stocks them any where near me. The warehouse in Oregon had 1 set he said. Those appear to be OTC made as well.

That's good to know- I've been wondering if the OTC and Napa were the same Manufacturer- they look identical.

If the Napa pair wasn't almost $40 I'd order a pair to compare them.

Some people have said the Snap on version feels more solid.

Too bad a side-by-side would be about $200 to make happen.

This is the same set just branded different and less money, I have a few sets of them and the best part is the wire cutters. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KD-Tools-NA...3aaf918&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=5&sd=281861870619

According to the internet, my local NAPA has them in stock for six bucks less than the real Snap On ones. Like the teenage girls said back in the day,
AS IF!!!!!

I bought the angled and regular OTC for less than $50 from Amazon a few months back. The OTC version I have seen online anywhere from $19.50-40. I would definitely buy the OTC versions over the Napa or Cornwell or Mac versions. Max guy had them for 49.99 only difference was they said Mac and the handles were red. Cornwell sells the for $40.
