Alright guys I've been looking for a bigger jack for lifting my Duramax, currently have old 1 1/2 ton green Sears jack which is a good one just need a bigger model also. Ran across this Blackhawk and Northern has it priced with two 3 ton jack stands for $199 which is a nice price point. So does anybody have any experience with this jack? Again this is only for home use a few times a month if that and as a back up. Thanks for any help guys.

The old green Sears jacks were either Japanese made Yasei units (328 model prefix) or Walker made (US made 626 prefix). The Walker made ones are rare....

(Just as an aside to your question...)

Run of the mill import manufactured by shinn fu (who owns the Blackhawk brand currently) you can probably find the same setup under the craftsman brand or any other retailers who peddle the shinn fu product lines.

Edit: I'm not sure if Sears models are shinn fu currently, they used to be, but unless it's old stock I believe torin the current supplier.

Thanks hiball that's what i had figured was just hoping for more out of it with the Blackhawk name.

Unfortunately Not, I'm sure they do sell quite a few based off the brand recognition. I'm not aware of the price point you where looking at on the Blackhawk unit, but I "Believe" the omega (also shinn fu) combo set is a omega 25033, I didn't research it fully but there has always been shared assets among the brands.

Yeah looks like I could get either one to the door for about the same price ($250 or little less). Don't know what to do i really would like to find a good quality used jack but have not had any luck. Was late to a old local car dealers shut the doors auction and of course the first thing sold was 6 or 7 good vintage jacks. :twak: :Toilet: :eyecrazy:

I'm confused you say this isn't a better quality choice. I found on the exploded diagram that it has a U-cup seal rather than just O-Ring. From the research I've been doing here the past few days, I thought a U-cup is what separated a good quality hydraulic seal from a poor one. Not the case?

(That's the jack included in the combo)

I had been looking at this one, and thought it would be a good choice because of the U-cup.
