Do you know anything about Atlas Drill Presses? Can you tell what model this one is? It sits on top of a work bench. Is there a way to get a manual and parts?

Possibly a model 64?? There was one on the local CL a couple months ago that I waited too long to call, and I'm still kicking myself. I found the manual for it online....

Sorry, I linked you to the Delta page for some reason, you can go to the same site and find the Atlas models too though.

I have a No. 74 that looks a lot like yours, except it's a floor model. The tag on mine is on the base, near the post.

You may find your answer at http://www.vintagemachinery.org/ in the photo index. You should be able to filter down to Atlas DPs. Also, you should be able to find an owners manual download there.

Just be careful. Lots of good machine **** there. You will realize that after hours of looking.

Edit:
Sorry nine4. I didn't realize that you gave the same website.

Is there a model plate on the side of the head? If not, you may have to go to OWWM and look through every manual to find that particular model.

Thanks. So far all I can find is a 62-28 on the side of the swinging table. I tried Googling earlier and found it might be a Model 63 but I thought some of you guys would know just looking at it. Some have rectangular switch plates and some have oval. Here's what I found so far. What do you think?

Any ideas?

I also found a nice restoration of a Model 74.

Looks like one of the differences between the 63 and 53 is the column diameter. What is the diameter on yours?

I got a pen and paper to write down some of the stuff about it. An error was made on the table. It should be a 62-28.

No. 34 Jacobs Chuck
62-28 Table Bracket
Table measures 10" x 10"
42-50 Motor Mount
Column Diameter - about 2-3/4"

There is no sign of a model number plate anywhere.

Now what do you think?
