Disconnect for hard wired equipment?

I am putting a cnc machine in the garage, and with the single phase (240v) transformer that will be put in the machine it will run off single phase 60 amp breaker.

Question I have is what is needed for equipment that does not use outlet receptacles? Can I use a disconnect like this (says it is for an a/c unit)

Wait. Is this machine a 3-phase unit and youre trying to run it on single phase?

If so, a transformer wont help u in that regard.

For a disconnect, u could use something as simple as an AC disconnect like what u linked to.

But if the machine has a disconnect, why are u adding another one?

Actually the transformer will help. The transformer is recomended by fadal to run the machine on single phase. Some cnc mills are capable of running on single phase when using the correct transformers (internal transformer, not external).

Anywho, I am thinking about the disconnect as I might have it inspected before the machine makes it in the garage, or I should say that is my hope and am hoping I can have all the wiring except where it enters the machine in place and that will pass inspection??

Is the SQ D disco on the Fadal 30A or 60A? All the Fadal machines I had anything to do with had factory mounting holes for SQ D 30A or 60A 600V NEMA type 1 safety switches, if my memory serves me right for 480V they used 25A fuses, cannot remember what was required for 208 or 240V, but they did spec a 8 AWG equipment grounding conductor but for the other disco, a safety switch or a enclosed circuit breaker.

Not 100% sure, still wrapped up at the riggers shop, rather not unwrap until I get it delivered. I can try and get a better look to make sure. This one is wired for 208v, or so what the dealer had told me.

2/3 the hp, loose 1/3 going to single phase without using a phase converter. Still plenty of HP since I do not plan on going for maximum material removal rates
