I started out reading here to snag a couple idea's for my new shop's design but I've decided to go back to something I sketched up in the desert in 1990... it's something like this. Basically it's three buildings connected with interior walls to give me three separate and different rooms The front 24' X 24' will be my done clean room with a few cars and several finished bikes ( my cars are really small (Austin Healey 100 and a 32 roadster )) The back 36' X 36' will be my main shop/ work studio and beside it will be another 24' X 24' which will be a dirty room ( storage, paint, grinding, and buffing type stuff.

36 X 36 24X24
24 X 24

I've been playing with it in sketchup ( a design program I found here )

Having a bit of difficulty with the final roof line but I think I'll end up with a ******* hip arrangement. I tried to copy and paste a file here to no avail.

I built my last shop 100% myself with the help of a few dedicated friends and this one will be built by sub's, Simply stated it's 20yrs since the last one and I'm way less interested in busting my *** then I am in playing in it.

Anyway this is the first of many threads as I go from dirt to done.

I'm looking forward to this build.

Doubt you'd remember, but we had dinner together with Freiburger at Bonneville once. I was driving the Honda Civic that raised the bar for hate mail at HRM.

From one new guy to another, welcome aboard.

Honda's, Hot Rod and Hate mail... Hmmm yeah that's pretty uncommon... Funny thing is I kinda remember that.

Guess I should'a mentioned there's an Old Camaro hanging out in the corner of the Dirty room...

I've gotta get set up here to show a couple of pictures of my old shop/current shop It's a 28 X 48' with 10' ceilings. The shop has all the requisite tools and welders. ( I can't build a bicycle.. Damn, is 44bikes one of the coolest threads in the history of ever? )
