This is my new tool arrival, received it 2 weeks ago, mounted the mill this weekend

attachment.php

Built the caster and leveling frame for the base. Allows me to place the mill anywhere in the garage and level it.

Been eyeing that one...how do you like it?

I've lurked long enough. Over the last month or so i've gotten quite a few new tools. Mainly stuff I found on sale for Black Friday, or some local store scores as well as Harbor Freight.

I'm a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pro ratchets. The Husky sockets are just replacements for lost sockets to fill my sockets rails which mainly consists of USA Craftsman.

The picture will everything on the floor is a bunch of tools I got for free from a good friend who is moving out of state. The wrenches to the bottom left are Snap On and Matco.Various Impact sets, two Craftsman sets, and 3 Snap On sets. Few Harbor Freight Pro things, and a bunch of older AutoZone (Ampro) sockets as well as USA Craftsman. Also a few power tools and some older IR air tools. I can get more pics of the free tools later once my new box arrives and I get everything in place where I want it.

nice ! Also welcome to GJ

So some slight bad news.....I took the press out of my car this morning and lugged it in the garage only to open the box and find this one has the cross beam welded across the top:(
I called the store and spoke to the manager and he told me the number of the one which "bolts" he said he should be getting more of the other style tomorro. He said he gets some of both so it's hit or miss which style he gets.
It ***** lugging this thing and putting it back in my trunk. Oh well....
I also noticed there is no plate for the jack to sit on aswell

I have an orange one and don't really see the difference. I doubt I would trust the HF fasteners anyway and would probably just weld it. Least your powder coating doesn't get messed up this way.

Only real upgrade with the grey press in my opinion is the arbor plates. Still think the bigger SWAG plates are a great upgrade, but at least you don't need to add plates to the purchase right off the bat.

The mounting for the jack is a good idea but has really never been an issue on mine all these years. I'm not sure how it holds the jack, but I think my air/hydro jack has a different footprint than the original anyway. Its a very insignificant amount of effort to Mount the jack better if it is a big deal. I have my springs adjusted so they fully compress the piston, so they hold the jack in place fine, even during a move to a new house last month.

Not an Irwin fan, but it's the affordable way to get NWS in Canada. These check all the important boxes, 9.5", fish tape puller and crimper.

Picked this up from an old timer at a local gas company. Cleaning out his service truck and said the company bought him a couple grand of pneumatic tools yesteryear and this one was the last one he had to give away. Said the only time it had compressed air in it was right after he put the fitting in it.

Snap-on PDR5A, $1.70 coffee was the price.

LOL, I was going to do the exact same thing since I want to know what it is as well. :D

On a side note as I scrolled through those pictures of some very nice stuff, I dreaded the thought of multiple "quotes".

What brand of trays do you have there? I like the size of the large one you have at the bottom.

How do you like the funnels? Do you think they are worth the money Snap on charges?

Bob

The stainless steel trays are from KTC (Kyoto Tool Co., Japan)

The funnels are great. I don't know if I would pay new Snapon prices. I bought all mine off ebay at considerable discount from the Snapon price.

The Herbrands at the bottom of this image arrived today:

T to B: Indestro 2850, Proto 4766, Herbrand 23006 1/4" drive breaker bars by four.cycle, on Flickr

these Klein 1001 stripper/crimper pliers arrived today:

I like the "strip" part. If the "crimp" part doesn't meet expectations I'll probably get a pair of 5032 Proamerica crimpers:

(not for anywhere near that MSRP price, of course.)

I got one of those drill doctors last year for christmas from my wife. Those drill doctors are great you might want to think about the attachment for doing the counter clockwise drills.

I got them straight from Enderes myself. I'd say either check local hardware stores that carry Enderes or see about ordering them.

Some may recall I got the harbor freight 20 ton press a couple days ago only to find out after I got it home I got the welded cross beam one and also it didn't have a jack base either. I called the other harbor freight today to check on the press because they said there was some of the other style coming in. Sure enough they did and I returned the old one for the bolted one. It even came in a total different size box.
So for those that are wondering
32879 is the part number for the 20 ton that's welded and has no jack plate

60603 bolts together at the top and has the jack plate

Here's after I put it together and removed the ugly stickers. Still plan on making a handle holder and a parts shelf aswell as putting casters or leveling legs on it
