Plomb Tools Website Update

I thought y'all would like to know about this. Tomorrow, www.plombtools.com is going dark. The reasons are simple. The past few years, I haven't had the time to devote to rebuilding the site, and that isn't going to change for the foreseeable future. When hosting company tripled my rates, that was the tipping point. Twertsy's new site is capturing the history, so it won't be lost forever. Also, you can find all of the Plomb Tools websites by going to the Internet Archive (archive.org) and entering the web address into the "Wayback Machine".

My intentions are to build a new site when I have more free time. I am retiring in a few years, so that's most likely when Plomb Tools will return.

Sorry to see it go down, any way to find a different hosting site that charges less money?

I'm sure there are other alternatives. It's more than just moving the site. I have to learn the new host's site tools and rebuild the pages. Another reason I decided to quit was the amount of spam I get. I needed a better solution. Right now, I don't have the time to commit to the work.

Bob,
I could host your site as a subdomain to mine if you like for the time being. Up to you but it is an alternative. Great site and I can't wait to see the new version!!

Yes! Please make this happen. I have used Bob's website as a reference numerous times. I am sure that many others find value in it too. :)

Hate to see the site go and thanks for taking on the task of putting it together in the first place! I've used it many times as borh a reference and to occasionally confirm I wasn't the only Plomb-hunting lunatic out there ;^)

Twertsy, that's a very cool offer.. Bob, I hope you decide to take him up on it... After all, if I'm not mistaken, you did something similar for Ed, didn't you?

Thank you all for the feedback - it's good to know the site is useful for the collectors! Todd and I are working out the details. Zeet - I did take over from Ed when the melanoma got so bad he could't see. Unfortunately, he wasn't here to see the site I built but I know he would approve.
