Hello Forum

I've finally got a little free time coming up, and I'd like to buy/make some cases for the power tools that just came in cardboard boxes. Specifically, I have a small router, an oscillating multi tool, and a plug in drill to get boxed up.

I'm thinking about finding some small medium sized plastic boxes (budget maybe $20 each) and cutting ply/acrylic/cardboard to support each individual tool. Room to keep accessories with the tool and not having to do origami to get the cord stuffed in are also important.

I'll be doing french cleats all around, and the cases my Dewalt tools came in, with a little cleat on the back, hang up great.

I don't have a whole lot of stuff to show but I will post a couple of things just to respond to your thread.

My storage box for my power tools that came new in cardboard boxes is just an open top wooden box that is like a small crate. My Skil saw is sitting on top and the other Skil saw is sitting inside. The crate goes nicely in the back of a vehicle.

I also have a wooden tool box I made to store some of my tools for working with wood. A wooden tool crib is included also. I know you said power tools but I thought these might give you some ideas. You can make wood boxes in many different shapes and sizes.
