Get a hold of Gearwrench. I had an Amstrong set that I got which had a duplicate socket (and missing one). Sent them an email with pictures and part numbers and they ended up sending me a replacement socket, at no charge. Same parent company, so worth a shot.

Everything was purchased from Count on Tools (pbtools.us) during their 30% Black Friday sale (yes it took a while to get here!). The mallets were around 45 and 60 bucks I believe. Nothing of theirs is cheap, but man is this stuff nicely built.

Grant, I have yet to use any of the mallets as I just got them today, but they seem to be built with the same quality as the rest of the PB Swiss lineup.

Here are my new tool arrivals from the last couple weeks:

Gearwrench 12 pc Fuel & Transmission Line Disconnect Tool Kit (Model# 41500)

I purchased it with a Gearwrench battery cable and terminal post cleaner tool on Sears.com. I used all of my Sears Shop Your Way reward points and a $16 off $50 coupon. However, when I arrived to pick up the package at the local Sears, I waited over 16 minutes to get the news from the pickup associate and a manager that the Gearwrench battery tool was not in the package. However, when I scanned the barcode on the pickup receipt, the battery tool showed up on the monitor as arriving at the store. I was angry that I waited 3 times the guaranteed pickup delivery time (5 min) and not receiving my full order. At first, the manager wanted to compensate me with a $5 customer service coupon. I told him (in a loud and firm voice) that it was not good enough. His company needs customers like me spending considerable dollars since Sears lost $300+ millions dollars in the 3rd quarter 2015. The manager did not say a word and left. The associate who rang me up to refund me for the battery tool handed me three, $5 customer service coupons.

Craftsman 2.5 AMP, Multi-Tool Kit With Quick Release (Model# 35078)

I used all of my Sears Shop Your Way reward points plus surprise points plus $10 off $100 coupon to purchase it. In addition, I used the above 3, $5 customer service coupons to knock off almost half the cost of the packaged sanding accessories below.

Dewalt 10 pc Metric, Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set

I purchased this set at a local Sears Outlet for $29.99. The irony is that I picked up the tool roll afterwards for this wrench set at the nearby Sears mall store and the sale price for the Dewalt set was $89.99. :eyecrazy:

Gearwrench 2 pc, Double-X Internal/External Snap Ring Pliers Set (Model# 82110)

I used some of my Sears Shop Your Way reward points to purchase it for local pickup. The fit and finish seems good on both pliers. Each pliers come with its own set of tips, allen wrench, and extra allen screws to secure the tips to the pliers. The COO on the packaging is China.

Knipex Revolving Punch Pliers and Orbis 25 Degrees Diagonal Pliers

I purchased both pliers from the HomeDepot website. The Knipex pliers were a "Special Buy" and marked down by almost $2.50. For the Orbis pliers, I conducted an online chat session and convinced the Home Depot representative to do a price match with the Menard's sale price. She gave me on top of the sale price an extra discount around $3.25.

Craftsman 3 pc Hose Pinch Pliers Set

I used some of my Sears Shop Your Way reward points to purchase it for local pickup. This set is made by Stride Tool/Milbar in the United States.

dodge610,

I haven't had a chance to use the Knipex punch pliers. They are a replacement for the General Tools punch pliers as sold by Amazon: LINK. For years, I have used the General Tools version to punch holes in leather and plastic. A few weeks ago, I punched a small hole in a leather belt. Unfortunately, I didn't properly align the punch with the bottom portion of the tool. One side of the frame bent around the pins. I was able to straighten out the frame with a vise and a Grip-on extra long nose pliers. The General Tool punch pliers is now functioning again but it is a backup to the Knipex.

How are you liking the screwdrivers? Been thinking of grabbing a set myself.

Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk[/QU

Been using that exact set of Gearwrench for sometime now. It has held up well and is a good assortment. However the Wera chisel and lasertip screwdrivers are more comfortable and easy to use one handed. The Wera chisel screwdrivers are just great for everything though!

They are awesome! Very different design than what I am used to.

I've been using their deadblows for 5 years now and I must say they are absolutely awesome. I have their largest sized fiberglass handle and one of their standard hickory handle deadblows with the plastic/metal replacement heads.

People are amazed when they operate it for the first time.
Once you own one you will never go back to the standard lead shot filled deadblows!

That's nice! I could have used one working on an Expedition two weeks ago.

What did it set you back?
315 on amazon through tooltopia. It was like 285 through amazon but they were back ordered so I just bit the bullet. No regrets at all after a plug change on my hemi and an injector swap on the buddies 5.9 it's paid for itself.

Ordered some williams dual socket head swivel wrenches Sunday and the came in today. 4 pc set 3/8 to 7/8 in a real nice tool roll with Velcro flap to keep the wrenches in a Velcro to hold the roll closed. The broaching looks real good as well. I paid 80 on eBay. They were brand new in sealed plastic. The plastic says industria Argentina but there are no coo markings on the tools.

my christmas order came in early from cpo outlets, i just talked to them and they said it wasnt even shipped out so i dont know if the guy mis-read or something in their system got messed up, but its nice to finally have my own ratchets and sockets and not having to use my dads. its not high end or snap on, but you have to start somewhere right? i picked up the 3/8 flex and 1/2 torque at harbor freight monday while the coupons were good. now i just need to get a tool box instead of a surplus mechanics bag lol

FE2Ki72.jpg

my only complaint out of the whole thing is on the 3/8 set some of the sockets have what looks like rough silver paint on them. at first i thought it was just chrome already missing but on ever socket ive been able to get it off so far. do they spray the inside of the sockets with something? its like it overflowed. after a tab bit of scratching it off with my fingernail its perfect chrome underneath

Sunex prybar/screwdriver holder and craftsman 3 piece prybar set, 36" prybar not pictured. Needed the holder for the taco wagon. The 3 piece was on sale for 15.99 and the 36" was 18.99 at my local Sears

Got this Crescent 2 pc mini pliers and cutter set as a splurge purchase from HD, I think it was 13.99. Made in USA. I thought it was interesting the packaging said crescent, pliers say crescent, cutters say xcelite, receipt said xcelite 2 pc set lol.

Thoughts: I like how they have the springs setup in these to keep them open, not intrusive whatsoever. I also like the grips.

That being said, fit and finish *****. The pliers aren't bad although they were ground asymmetrically. The knurled teeth don't cover 100% of the width of the jaw.

The cutters are just bad. The rivet joint is too loose so the cutting edges don't contact each other as they should. I'm gonna try to repair these with a ball pein hammer and a bench grinder.

Damn you scored, according to google $145 CAD equates to $104 USD! I just barely ordered one on eBay for $165 USD.

Snap on (when buying off the truck) is one of the very few situations where the crappy exchange rate works in my favour. When (if) our dollar improves, ebay will again be worth the extra effort. I've passed on dozens of ebay items that would have been a great deal 12 months ago.

Snap on guy came by today. I am really anxious to try out the "ears" and vibration tool. May not be much, but it didn't cost a lot. We will see.
