Got a new hammer and didn't last long...

I got a nice, shiny new hammer. It works well but tends to get deformed and some of the parts have even broken off. Finally I found a diagram on the package that tells me I'm hitting it with the wrong side. But the other side is just a small square and much harder to aim. Any tips out there?

Also make sure you use at least the 1/2" Drive version...

The square "Striking Platform" is much easier to aim...

Although, not as easy as the 3/4" Drive size...

But then you're into the "Sledge Hammatchet" variety...

And those are only for "Professional Users"!!!

You've got the ratchet set in the wrong direction. It will only drive in a clockwise direction. Unless you're using left-handed bolts.

Look, I wouldn't have one of those in my toolbox, but I could see a linesman or a tower climber being thrilled to have one less tool to carry up.

I think that is one thing folks seem to miss out on in commenting on a lot of the threads here. Not everyone works on or uses tools for the same thing. What may be useless or foolish to you may be a great solution to someone else in a different field.

I often hear young auto techs wondering why anyone would buy SAE anything but I still sell more SAE then metric.
