I have heard some good things about SW products but I am jaded by my experience dealing with the local commercial division, which sells higher end coatings, such as Rexthane. Basically, they tried to dissuade me from using a quality coating and then raised the price on me. I won't go back. Your experience may differ.

They carry very good products

I used their DTM coatings for the exterior & roof of my shop, (metal pole barn)
Much better then the big box stores - I really like the local rep too.

I however have no experience with floor coatings

I just don't know what the heck to use. I don't have a vapor barrier and though I don't notice a problem after 13 years I am told that epoxy is a bad choice. I do have a few cracks where you see a white residue around the crack which would suggest moisture had been present....but nothing problematic. My floor has never been sealed as I tried to wait for it to cure......next thing you know there was **** everywhere and it was dirty. Now 13 years later I just can't take it anymore. I also would like to use something to level out a couple of low spots. I have a 20 ft drain but the concrete work is terrible and the floor is lower than the drain right at the drain. I would love to level that up so it would work like it should.

Have you tried a basic moisture test by placing a 3'x3' piece of clear plastic on the bare concrete floor and taping all edges all the way around? Then wait 24 hours and look for beads of water on the underside of the plastic or dark/wett looking concrete under the plastic. That would be my first step if it were me.

Then I would degrease and power wash the floor several times. After that I would evaluate.

Do you have any pictures you could post? That would get you a lot of great advice from very experienced people here on GJ.

I know moisture comes up through the cracks. We had about 8" of rain the last three days. This is one example.

I believe you are mistaken about the DTM paint. It is a Benjamin Moore product.
BTW, I have used it and it is great!

Two coats of color creates an opaque finish. Floor should have decent porosity. If it's really smooth, etch it . If porous, then just a good cleaning or power washing.

Guess I could sandblast it.? They did use a power trowel when they did it in 2003. But they refused to go slick like I wanted so its not nearly as smooth as I wish it were.

No - it's a SW product. I have a commercial account there, it's really the only place I shop from. I'm sure Benjamin moore would have a similar product.

The OP, that's pretty bad efflorescence, how's your drainage around the outside of the shop?

Nothing noticeable from outside but half of it sits on solid rock. We weren't able to use as much gravel as we would have liked and still hit our final grade. Keep in mind we have had about 10" of rain in three days so this is a worst case scenario but I would still want to choose a product that can tolerate it.

I'm really leaning toward the 6600. Can you confirm that it will work even with my occasional efflorescence?

It will allow the moisture to pass. It is ok to use on exterior concrete. I would at least pretreat the really bad areas with HD37 Densifier plus prior to application.

Ok thanks. Is it best to purchase through your site or can you offer better deals over the phone or through this forum?
