Gas regulator replacement on my lincoln weld pak

The guages have busted on my gas regulator on my weldpak 180. I thought I could get a generic harbor freight co2 / argon regulator but it looks totally different from the one I have now and I couldnt get it to fit. Ithen went to tractor supply as well as northern tool and the hobart regulator looked just like the harbor freight. Am I missing something?

The regulator I have is a Harris® 3000290 Gas Regulator (S25805)
Arent the harbor freight ones universal? Id rather not pay $100 and wait a week by mail ordering the part number. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

It may look different but should work, maybe you had a flow meter?

The end of the hose wouldnt fit into the generic harbor freight regulator. Imight have done something wrong

If you have a Harris, don't throw it out, that's a quality unit. Get it rebuilt. You'll spend about the same as you would on a HF regulator, but have a good quality regulator. Here is the company I use for rebuilding regulators and torches:

Harris regs and flowmeters are pretty decent, but I would bet that the provided one with the welder is pretty cheap. Check out HTP for a decent replacement, that's affordable.

Exactly, why trash a perfectly fine regulator for some $15 gauges?

Those gauges should be available at air gas or any welding supplier..

Yep, less than $30 & some Teflon tape and good as new

You could also change out the output of the HF to a ****** and cut the hose and clamp it...have done that with regulators in the past with no ill effects...
