Thanks, I saw on the list that Sioux made a few of them but I didn't see the 3/8 Super Duty models referenced in this thread so wasn't sure.

And if they are made by Sioux, I wasn't sure if SO was calling out for a different spec for their ratchets compared to whatever "equivalent" model is out there.

Don't know about Bondhus but the snap on hex is identical to the bahco, both made in spain

I'll update this same post later. But about half of Matco's Cordless tool line up can be found here in Australia. Sold as SP Tools (I believe a division of SP Air).

Ive heard the comments before about "they're made by the same company." but are they built with the same exact standards? The same quality and materials? Ime no. I used to work for a company that made friction products (clutches and brakes) if it wasnt in spec for oem it was amost always in spec for after market. Same product made on the same lines, onewas held to a higher standard.

Atlas Copco makes a lot of compressors. Cornwell tools are all Atlas units, HFs large electric and gas units are Atlas. Atlas Copco also owns Chicago Pneumatic and Quincy. Plus a ton of other companies.
The only real concern is the warranty, However I have heard that Atlas Copco has been covering units sold at HF.

From looking at the various units and parts listings they are the same. Just different paint and decals.

OP, I have to disagree with a few things you have listed under Matco Tools. The Gearwrench 60/84t ratchets are in no way the same as Armstong/Matco ratchets. Not the same tooth count, made in Taiwan as opposed to the Armstrong/Matco being made in USA. Although the Matco and Armstrong ratchets are the same.

Looking at it again, I agree. I added them since the locking flex mechanism is the same, but the fact that they are a different COO (At least until Matco switches over

) and different tooth count, I've removed them. :thumbup:

Good deal. I do want to clarify, although they are not the same, the Gearwrench are still superb quality ratchets. I own both Matco and Gearwrench ratchets and use them both hand in hand.

Are there any truck tool equivalents for socket sets that only contain Sockets? I want to piece together my own complete socket set with Williams ratchets but the only good quality socket sets(only sockets) I can find are Sk and they dont come with many sockets.

That's pretty poor effort right there. Every brand sells just socket sets. Proto & Blackhawk USA, Wright, Armstrong, etc. It took me 5 minutes to dig these up

On the Williams flex head ratchets, the handle lengths are oddly different than Snap-on. The 1/4 is longer, the 3/8 is pretty much the same, the 1/2 is shorter (14 instead of 17).

There's actually a good chance they may be. Not only do they look alike, but Stanley (Mac) are customers of Pratt Read. Pratt Read is owned by Ideal Industries. Ideal also owns Western Forge, who make many screwdrivers for the Danaher/Apex Tool Group. Apex owns the Gearwrench/KD name. Two of the largest screwdriver manufacturers under one umbrella that may very well make all the screwdrivers sold by the big name companies. SK and Snap On are also Pratt customers and don't forget, SK is owned by Ideal too.

Older design MAC boxes are sold by Proto, I have one. They have a new lineup coming out too but I don't know when they're available.
