How to remove tire marks

New concrete floor. Building electors used a scissor lift and left tire black marks all over it. I'm going to use a clear sealer on it. Will the marks pressure wash off or is there another way?

Yes they will come up with a pressure washer.

If you've got one laying around I'd try a tennis ball on a stick, depending on how many marks there are and how big they are, but I like the pressure washer idea if there's a lot of them or things getting wet isn't an issue.

If they aren't too numerous, I think I remember seeing that scrubbing marks like that with a tennis ball will take them off.

Just trying to remove the tire marks from the scissor lift that was used by the building electors. They are all over it. I found and old post about this same situation and several people commented that pressure washing won't do it, but a floor polisher with a scuffing pad will.

tires themselves are like a giant rubber eraser. Leaves a clean spot, just don't get them to hot...


Or try TSP. or a mild acid solution and a brush. good luck.

If pressure washing won't work, then normally any mechanical means such as sanding, grinding, use of a Diamabrush, etc should work.

ok....did a little experimenting. The marks aren't as permanent as they look. I threw a handful of sand on the floor and rubbed it around with my shoe and it was coming off. Then i put a little dawn dish soap and water in another spot and it came off pretty easy. So today I'm hauling my pressure washer out there to get after it. It should come off pretty easy with that.
My sealer arrived yesterday.....so I should be good to go for next weekend.

Amen to that!! Most of my friends would show them off, not get rid of 'em.
