Will Racedeck flooring work for a workout/weight room? I need something that can hold large amounts of weights like a full set of dumbbells and 2000lbs of weights. It also needs to be fairly flat so I can roll equipment around with small wheels. Lastly it needs to have a little bit of cushion for dropping weights on to the floor, but nothing major is needed as I don't slam weights around.

Will RaceDeck work for this (or something similar)?

PS: Rubber flooring is out of the question as I originally put this in but had a major reaction to some of the off-gassing from it.

We do offer a complete sports flooring line up at http://www.snapsports.com -our flooring is used in a lot of gyms, rec centers, basements, etc... but the only thing its not really designed for is slamming weights onto the ground, rubber really is the only option for that ( you could always use a rubber pad for that area over the RaceDeck

what is the difference between your sports flooring and your garage flooring? would the garage flooring still work in the gym or is the sports flooring much better for that?

We put the standard racedeck down in the basement for our gym area. Works well and looks great!

You would either want to use their fitness flooring or something line our interlocking rubber gym tiles

bcardio, how will the weights be displaced? This could be a factor in how you decide to purchase which flooring you want. If the 2,000lbs of weight is displaced well enough, you should definitely look into the rubber flooring Justin suggested.

Our LW is also capable of handling large amounts of weight, is flat, provides great traction and has anti-fatigue. Check it out when you have the chance...

Obviously I read that two fast. While our rubber flooring is leed certified and environmentally friendly, you will need to look at some other options. Even the PVC might pose an issue. Highly suggest you get some samples.

Yes, please suggest non-rubber flooring options if possible. It looks like RaceDeck is non-rubber. Does anyone have any other options?

I just had to remove $$$ worth of rubber flooring that I just put in back in September.

The 5-100lb dumbbell set will be on 2 DB racks and the ~2000lbs of plates will be housed on a power rack. I also have a bench that will need to roll in and out of the power rack constantly and a number of other machines (cardio and weight machines). I do not need a great deal of cushion as I do not slam weights, but a little would be nice. My priority is non-rubber.

Thanks
