I was able to get this 2 post lift for free but I cannot find any name or number on it anywhere. It is a floor plate model. It is probably from the 80's but I'm not sure. Looks similar to some Mohawk lifts but I have yet to find anything that matches this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wow, 5 yr member and never made a post.:shocking:

He's been waiting five years to find a free lift:)

The uprights and pulleys look like what is found on Worth floorplate lifts but the carriage is different from what I've seen. Has it been repainted red?

It looks sort of like a WORTH, but there is more that doesn't look like it. I have a WORTH, and the lift arms are different than what is shown.

For the OP....is your cables on top of your floor plate or under it? The pic makes it look like they are on top :headscrat

yes I'm a little slow posting. The cables lay in a tray and then there is a plate that goes over that. I do believe that it has been repainted at some point. I have looked at tons of pictures of other lifts and have yet to see one that has the same lift arms mine has.

The WORTH that I have does not have a tray for the cables. The cables go across the floor then the bottom plate goes over the top of them and then you use the post bolts to hold the plate down.

Other than trying to find out what type of lift it is, what else are you needing to know? Anything in particular?

Oh, and yes.......YOU ****!!!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

BTW.....if you aren't familiar, a "YOU ****" is the prestigious Garage Journal Award term for a super killer deal.

Nice catch. Hope your "free" lift works out. I passed on a lift that could have likely been had for the removing - it sat outside for years and estimates on rebuilding the lift cylinders came back as "buy a new lift, it's cheaper".

Mainly I was just trying to find out what kind it was. It was actually in an intermediate school metal shop. I doubt it saw much use. I know the teacher and he used it a few times for his personal stuff, so I know it works.
