I've been making some sawdust in my garage. A while back I made a walnut dodecahedron lamp base for my wife. I through it would be fun to make one where each edge has two magnets in it to hold the faces together. This one is just birch plywood, but I'll probably make a nicer one later.

I also had a chance to get started on my next big project. My wife and I are expecting a little boy in a couple of months and I was nominated to build a crib. My design is modeled after the Oeuf Classic crib with a few of my own touches. Here are my sketchup models.

I cut out both of the two end panels today. I'm very happy with how they turned out. I still need to round over all of the edges.

Decided to get an oil "easy" drain setup for my husky 60 gal. compressor since it's usually a huge mess. I also added an extended drain valve on the bottom and a proper oil cap since i was using a bolt since it got lost during a move. All this in hopes I'll take better care of my equipment (well more frequent maintenance at least)

Nice work! Is it a stock truck pan?

I'm thinking an OEM TBI PCM to control the trans. (with a few specific inputs) is what I'll do for a controller when I need to replace what's in my still-has-a-TV-cable G-body.

Busy day today

First, did a second coat of mud on the half of the garage I am finishing.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305061.446964.jpg

Then got sick of the box of the Polaris wasting 1.25"
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305149.208840.jpg
So did this

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305186.131036.jpg
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305196.282643.jpg

Lastly, continued with insulating the sill and spraying some foam in
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305244.671895.jpg
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454305255.156881.jpg

Hopefully I can finish the mudd and get the half fully painted by next weekend.

Found my Hella 4" rubberized lights buried in a milk crate full of stuff! Bingo. Time to install them on the truck as backup/switched work lights!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454306760.236470.jpg

Saturday i repaired the cracked/broken welds on my buddies landscape trailer, not too bad of a job. Then i had to clean the carb on my atv since it was starting to get gummed up with ****. Next was installing a hot water spigot/sillcock/wall hydrant or whatever the hell you want to call it inside the garage so i can power wash the cars and other stuff in the winter without freezing. Once that was done then came the actual power washing of the vehicles.

Sunday was a little more relaxing with just organizing and cleaning some things up until a load of wood arrived. Then it was time to fire up the chainsaw, atv, and wood splitter to get er done!! Only took a couple hours to knock the cord out and then it was time to clean everything up.

Tried out my new buffs on the Alcoa's that i'm polishing for my truck. For my first time really buffing something I think I'm getting the hang of it. Sorry for the huge pic and my ugly mug!

I need to find some once-fired .45 cal. brass to make my pawns from, and to determine a dark finish for the second set of royalty, and their pawns.

I have tons of brass and getting once fired brass for you isn't a big deal.

Send me a PM with what you need and I will make it happen for you.

Picked this up at the Atlanta Airport last Wednesday then drove to Kershaw Motorsports park and tested for two days. Came back to the shop yesterday, now working on it for COTA. I love the built in air jacks!

Quick lunchtime project -- started to reinforce some old bathroom cabinets to be used as roll-around bases for tools.

Added the 2x base and supports to this cabinet that will become the base of my miter saw:

Will add some HF casters and a 2x top shortly.

More cleaning in the garage today, threw out some mouse-**** infused shelving, took another load of junk to the dump as well.

replaced the starter on my 02 exploder. PITA, took 3 hours for something held in with just 2 stupid bolts. It even required a donation of human flesh to complete.

Started on the trunk battery mount for my 68 Camaro project.
I had a disconnect from a boat and an unused solenoid from another project laying around so I used those, and mounted the relay for the intank fuel pump on there also. It's an Odyssey mount.
Now I need the to find a free Odyssey 1500 battery to put in it.

Waiting for the final Criagslister to come and get a home made workbench that the former home owner in my previous home in Columbus left behind... It has served me well for ~25 years.. but with a new laminated workbench in the basement shop and the basement shop work bench in the garage.. its gotta go....

Did a bit of small project work, caulked the siding cracks (awaiting better weather to have the siding panel replaced) that the ATT guy made when running line for Uverse. Also finally fitted eye bolts, an eye bolt to the stud, and cable to the back of the new TV.. Just don't need a new TV crashing to the ground or on top of the grandkids....

I overhauled my old brush hog. I found a number of cracks in the deck that needed welding. Replaced the cracked header pipe to the muffler, removed and sharpened the blades, greased a few things. I still need to get a piece of 3/16" cold roll to replace the rear skirt. I cut out the old piece that was bent and chewed beyond recognition. The blades weighted 7# each after grinding a bit. One of the blade bolts had never been off in 35 years or so. It laughed at my impact and my BFH. I finally got it with a 6' cheater on a 2' pipe wrench.

This is a picture of my wife and I helping our grandson apply racing stripes to a car I am building for him. It is a 1/2 scale Austin Healey bug eye Sprite. To my knowledge it is one of two known to exist. It is powered by a 12 volt Lithium ion battery and has an electric motor on each rear wheel. The next step is for grandma to finish he upholstery.

Lucky you! It's a beautifully built car, I did not get to drive it tho, I'm just the wrench/Crew Chief on it. We will be racing her in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup class this year. Watch for #00 !

That's sharp little ride, maybe just a bit nicer than the jerry rigged go cart I had. I had no cash for a cintrificle clutch but old pulleys were abundant lol couldn't stop just slow to an idle. I suggest a bumper!

Not today but over the weekend I got out the croftgate starter kit and tried it out on the blue car, happy withy the way it turned out. Weather was nice but the roads were covered in salt still, the croftgateUSA wash and wax uses less than a gallon of water and most of that gets dumped, perfect for in the garage middle of winter cleaning.

Thoroughly cleaned my new to me Rotary Hammer. Scrubbed the entire tool and case with simple green and a little wire brush. hit all the bits with a wire weel and oiled them.

#1 son came by and determined I had installed one of my wheel lock hubs wrong, he corrected that and noticed the large amount of oil on engine may be the result of my valve cover nuts being loose. He got a full turn on all 4 with his fingers! I been slacking off

Built a riser to fit on the mobile table where my miter saw is mounted that matches the height of the vise on my abrasive chop saw.

This is in anticipation of modifying the load beams from pallet racks to serve as fence posts.

There is no room in my workshop for a dedicated lengthy saw bench.
