HI this mid lift is on sale and thinking of Purchasing http://www.americanautomotiveequipment.com/Motorcycle-ATV-Lifts-p/pmr6xt-d.htmit I really am looking for thoughts on constuction and durability.Please give me feed back on the mid lifts if you have used or own one, I`m buying a mid lift because I have a 9 foot ceiling and do mostly suspension and brake work.

I really want one of these. How much is it going for? I've got a 10' ceiling in my dads shop so a 2 poster is out of the question. Being able to sit under my truck has got to be better than layin on my back

The description says it does not have "arms". Does that mean it lifts only by contacting the frame at all points?
If so, not a good design IMHO.
I have the Bendpac midrise lift and it has "swing arms" with various adapter plates to allow positioning and lifitng at manufacturer designated lift points and pinch welds. I love my Bendpac midrise.

Go to the Bendpac website and look at their midrise and compare to the one you are considering to get the idea of what I am trying to explain.

OK, I went to the mfr' website and it does show the swing arms.
Sounds like it is a good deal for the diyer. Also has the desired auto relase feature instead of manual cable deal.

I've been happy with my Bendpak mid-rise, but if your truck is a full size, forget about using a mid-rise with it. It would be fine with a small truck or cars.

I was just sort of browsing through the boards here and when I saw "American Automotive Equipment" red sirens went off. I've heard nothing but bad things about them (mostly from an ex-neighbor who ran a minor tooling operation out of his garage). No customer service, no accountability. Take your money and not give you a product type stuff. You basically have to hammer them repeatedly and cry foul to sites like rip-off report to get any action out of the company once they've messed up.

I can't attest to the actual equipment. I've never seen it in action. Just be very careful with this company. Be prepared for a major battle if even the slightest thing goes wrong.

If you do decided to go with them, I'd be interested in seeing how all of this plays out--if they've cleaned up their act.

Why? There are two post lifts that are less than 10'. They are not clearfloor models though.

I have seen them and really don't trust them at all . I use big jack stands and have never had a problem yet . You can also get nice drive on ramps that pick the entire car , truck or whatever and can this be used in a 8' ceiling ! They are very safe and in the $1000 to $1200 area . Take a look ! I have seen them at big car show and are really nice and very well made here in the USA !

Rip-off report is almost as addictive as GJ. Check these complaints on a company called www.superlifts.com

They seem worse than American auto equipment, they don't even bother to answer the accusations.

I have the same model as the one you're looking at and so far, I love it. That said, I've only used it a couple of times.

It lifts a 911 to 57" in about 5 seconds and seems sturdy, which is exactly what I wanted. Shipping from Texas to Washington State was about $400.

Why? There are two post lifts that are less than 10'. They are not clearfloor models though.

Some such as the A7 & Series 1 10K are clear floor & can have the lines run in the floor so all you have are the posts.
