Who makes great snips/shears?

I am looking for some great all-around snips/shears for work. General cutting, not trying to cut rebar

I want to say there is a great German company but I can't find the name. I am looking for a design similar to these...

I have a few that look like that. Believe they are made by Wiss. They work great on thin gauge metal.

And, while the name is likely German, it looks like the company is actually based in North Carolina. Does anyone have them? Are they made in USA?

Midwest are a lot better than wiss

This is good to know. The snips I used for cutting corner bead when I did drywall were the yellow handle Wiss snips. They were decent, but didn't stay sharp for more than a few months. Granted, at times we would use them A LOT.

I just went through this as well because my old snips just got dull over time. I ended up buying the Craftsman snips made by Midwest. The Wiss were cheaper but the overall opinions were Midwest was the way to go. The Craftsman version were a little cheaper than the Midwest too.

Thanks. I got to looking at different Clauss snips, shears, and scissors on Ebay...they really make an extensive line of stuff, and really reasonably priced. I am considering taking a flyer on a pair and seeing what they are like. The worst that can happen is I lose $20

By the way, Brownsfan, how do Steeler fans take it when you remind them that the Browns had the greatest dynasty in the history of pro football? That has to feel good
