The top ratchet is a 1/2 BE craftsman. The custom is an odd one. Looks like it missed a few steps in the quality process.

Here's my take from Friday.
Lots of taps, all the ones in the lid are pipe thread. The other tin had plenty of counter sink bits and reamers.
Another adjustable file handle like the CM I picked up a while back, except it's General brand. A Blue Point thread restorer set.

A neat Starrett feeler gauge with wire sizes and the tapered thickness gauge?
641fedff7253e5991adc97edb5b3ec6c.jpg
Contents of tool box from yesterday, nice assortment of metric CM wrenches, some Thorosens that had the brand was ground off.

Items from a estate sale, Diamond wrench, what I thought was a rivet setting for brass rivets, but is actually a saw set tool.

And finally, a 1/2 ton chain hoist, Lil Mule. Guy was asking $200 to start. I wired it up to test, would do more than click, he had a capacitor that I'm not sure is any good, but I took a chance for $ 60 that's it just needs the right cap.

cbacres, love those Craftsman DBE metrics!

Outlaw, I think Kennedy made a larger cantilever model 1022 but I can't remember. Also, would that little air hammer be a gravers tool for engraving? I know they use micro air hammers for the knives, I've been looking in to the hobby.

Not cheap.. But I've been wanting a nice "non-metal" machinist box and at $100 for everything.. Not bad in my mind as I was in a hurry and expected no tools at the estate sale inside a condo..

Not sure of the make of the box.. 8edaca2f296e8667f594517dfb0421d1.jpg

Lots of mostly Starrett goodies and other fine machinist bits..

And an Update: I just picked up a new looking 50 ft plumbers snake for free. It won't stay new looking long, I have an underground gutter drain that is plugged. I'm hoping its not roots, and just dirt.

Today was a Proto and odd sale!!

I got these 8 track and CB radio new in the box, with the contractor bags, the match box holder and light switch cover. the 8-track is already sold to a buddy of mine.
img_4068.jpg

Then the tools, Majority are Proto, with some snap-on, Mac, SK, Craftsman, Bonney, and other misc.

The Proto tools,

I was first in line and when I got to the basement I found this in the corner and imediately asked the guy in charge how much for the tool box, he said $45. I asked about the tools inside it and he said look through it all and let me know what you want. I dug through it all and above is what I kept. I ended up paying $100 for the whole lot!

I'm not sure if the socket tray is original for it but it came with the toolbox.

Sweet haul Madison (and everybody before)!

I left the house this morning with $100 and came back broke. But I did get a few cool things:

The wife and I went to the local flea market this morning. She made sure to take me there to look for tools since she knew I'd be stuck working on the house the rest of the day.
Didn't really get any steals this week, but I'm happy with the prices paid for stuff. Cheaper than eBay without waiting for a package.
SK speeder for $2, Snap On 3/8" extension for $2, SK ratchet for $10, and a busted USA Craftman 1/2" ratchet for $1.

My main goal was to find a metal toolbox that I could put in my pickup for storing straps and other things. Wasnt much selection, but I got exactly what I wanted for $8. Has the tray inside and I think I'm gonna do a little resto before putting it to work.

Thanks! It's the first of its kind I've seen, so I couldn't leave without it!

I need to sort out my proto tools now as I suspect I got a lot of duplicates, I almost had a complete 1/2" drive set before without the extensions and ratchet and with this purchase I have completed it now! So the other extra sockets will get sold off for more cash to collect the other missing tools in my proto and SK collection! Also the CB radio will go up for sale, I already got a cobra 29ltd that's sentimental so no need to be keeping multiple CB radios in the garage.

No sales by me, So i was just running around doing errands yesterday morning. One of my stops was the barber shop to get my kid a haircut. There was a short wait, so I decided to stop at the used furniture/refinisher/ antique shop next door. Guy never has any tools, but he's a good guy, and Ive bought some refinished stuff from him in the past.
So as soon as I walked in, I spotted this toolbox out of the corner of my eye; asked how much, he said $30 with all the tools inside. I said tools inside? Ok, so I took a quick look, and although it's missing the front cover, I figured it's still a good deal. I don't have a use for 75% of the stuff in it, but I figure it may come in handy for trading. I wish the Williams wrenches weren't missing. Looks like it was a machinist's chest weekend!

Great deal, but are you sure it is missing the front cover? I see it in the pics. :headscrat:

Nine is correct on both accounts.

Been under the weather but did to make one stop at the ReStore this past week. Left to right: indestro super, wright, thorsen, bahco, penncraft, s&k, and Mac. Also found the proto keychain screwdriver while I was their.

Good day today. Traded that bonesaw that I bought last week for this 128 lb english anvil (trying to figure the maker) pd 30 for these 1" machinist clamps and 30 for this US made stool. I also rebuilt my Wesco hydraulic hand truck that i got a month ago and moved the anvil with it. Perfection! -edit- Turns out it is a very rare Hill made in Birmingham, English. 18330-1850.

Put wheels on that stool. Once you get your floor leveled it will be great for scooting back and forth between benches when you're working.

50 ton hydraulic press, 110v, infinitely variable speed control. It weighs about 500 lbs and it was a beast to get into position with 2 people. The jack is leaky like I was told so I pulled the piston out and need to find new seals. I haven't turned it on yet since all the oil poured out of it in transit but I am told it works well. I don't really care either, I can easily mount a bottle jack instead and the frame alone is worth it. Does anyone know what weight hydraulic oil something like this takes? I got it for $150.

Nice find on that press! What is the size channel as used for the working table, and what is the width of the uprights post to post?
