It's probably still stamped and they can be hard to see some times. If its 24" deep, its a 761, 29" deep its a 1001.

Lock cylinders have numbers/letters on them, can I get new keys from Snap On or cheaper to take to locksmith? Would 87 be for 1987?
I need to get one guide for one of the shallower wide drawers and how can I fix the bottom drawer without buying new guides if it moves out on its own?

Is there a way to data a Snap On cabinet from its serial number? I have a KRL722 which I think they've been making nearly forever so the style won't help me narrow it down
Thanks

Your box would have the newer serial number decal, not the stamping. I don't know of a way to determine age by the info on the decal. Closes thing I can come up with by the serial number for my box is maybe '02, but don't feel that is right since I bought it brand new in '04. I would say your box is no older then mine as '03 was when the double top drawers started to really come out.

Not was I was expecting, but yes that is a 1987 KR560.

With the lock # y142 you can get a new key from Snap-on by calling customer service or you can get one from Lynch Display Vans in Burlington WI. They are the supplier for those keys. http://m.ldvusa.com

Cheapest place I have found for Y series keys is from a guy on ebay swannyriver or something like that.~$8/pair shipped.
