I saw some one over Autopia refresh their polish so I had to do mine, I know sick at least that what the wife says. Subject: Makita 9207, bought in 1996.Just a quick note if you had a polisher for while you may need to re grease it, or just push the grease back into the gears. Mine had lots of grease but hardly any around the gears.I sand it down the head first, 80 grit up to 1500 then polished it with red and then white polishing bars. Then hit with a little English custom polish. The trick to takeing aluminum from a rough texture to polish is in the snding. The plastic started with 500 grit, up to 1500. Then buffed it with different compounds and finished it with Meguiar's plastic polish

nice looking, but did you know that a rough cast or natural finish on the aluminum will disperse heat faster than a polished finish?
polishing smoothes and closes the pores of the metal reducing the ability to heat transfer

I have heard that, but I have polished intakes, heads, etc. and have never had a problem. Also I don't plan on working that hard, so the tool is not going to work that hard.:lol_hitti

If you are that bored.....you can come over and do the ones in my tool box.....

Which will give my wife more time to polish 'my' tool.....

For your next trick, are you going to sand a sander?
