I bought a set yesterday. They did not have sets on the clearance rack, just singles. I got every size and stubbys too. 9 screwdrivers. Priced from $3.00 to $7.00 each. They are made by Great Neck Saw in the USA for Lowes. Use domestic and imported materials. They are very comfortable for large hands and pretty good quality. Not replacing my Williams, just another set that feels good.

I caved today and bought a Kobalt P3x6 screwdriver. I've been on the fence about the Williams screwdrivers ever since I saw a thread about the shanks being bent. How do the Kobalt compare to the Williams?0104b7ac17204e2638e7ab31d0c16c28.jpg

Picked up a 2 week old us general 72 off of craigslist for 700. I had posted a wanted ad for one and I got a reply this morning for it. The guy had bought it a few weeks ago for a new job then found out the place supplies boxes and had to sell it.
Will post another picture tomorrow once i fill it up, it will be replacing my two 44 inch boxes. I will try to do a before and after video for comparison of how much two 44 boxes hold vs one 72.

How do you like it ? I'm buying one this weekend.

I think the Williams are higher quality. The Williams Phillips drivers are anti cam out, the Kobalts are not. I purchased the Snap-on hard handle screwdrivers when they first came out. The ones that eventually turned white and disintegrated. Most of those were crooked in the handles. I seldom turn a screwdriver at 100 rpm so it never bothered me. I rate them as a 10 out of 10 still and judge all screwdrivers compared to the Snap-ons. The Williams are a 10. The Kobalts are maybe 7 or 8. I think well enough of them to spend my money on them. Just my opinion of course.

Was hooking a new TV up out inteh garage and needing some cable fittings and decided to buy a crimping set. I should have bought one of these a long time ago.

Also grabbed a new pair of Lineman's pliers as the old ones are getting wore and havign issues cutting. Menard's was cheaper but price match plus 10% at HD made even cheaper.

I also grabbed a parts sorting tray at HF and a magnetic strip. I used the 20% off coupon for the strip and got another free set of HF screwdrivers. The screwdrivers will make their way into the firehouse as they seem to disappear there. This will be the second set I've taken in.

Skin...is that the harbor freight or the astro? How you like it?

Probably all the same, just bought the cheapest set I could find which was no-name on ebay for ~$60. All I wanted was the press discs. They look and feel well made enough.

I use the HF kit in the shop press from back when it was $70 and it works fine (now they want $120 for the same set). The new set is going to be modified to clear ABS/wheel speed sensors.

The tool truck equivalent thread costs me money every time I look at it lol. The shop your way surprise points are something I can never pass up though. Total out of pocket for these two were $11.

I have that seal puller it works pretty good. Bent the tip a little but no big deal. It's lasted me 8 years now.

Hi!

Nice purchases BUT: Is that a soundbar/audio system integrated in your toolbox? Would you be so kind to tell me more about it?

Thanks!!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Yessir. It's the 54" soundbar from some toolbox promotion they were running. They also have a 72" but my Epiq has the power strips on it and the 54" fit perfectly between them. The soundbar has a USB port, and 3 or 4 additional power outlets on it. It's also bluetooth. Bought the epiq tv stand too but haven't put a tv in it yet.

Thank you so much for the information! Very, very neat - I didn't even know they exist. You say promo, so this is not a regular catalog item for the Epiq series?

Kind regards,
Oliver

They weren't available separately when I got mine. I'm not sure that they are now. The part# I believe is SOUNDBAR54 and SOUNDBAR72. You could probably find them on ebay or craigslist.

We had the same set at my old shop. eBay special, never used the pressure screw just used the step plates and tubes in the press. Always worked perfectly without issue, in a 20t press. Lots of wheel bearing replacements.

Went to Sears to get a set of the craftsman premium ratchets the ones with the sealed head. I broke mine and lost it a while ago. Found out they don't make those anymore. Saw these ones are now 84 tooth so picked up the set.

what brand turbo?

Garrett. Powerstoke housings can be taken off with the turbo still in the truck with a 5/16 or 8mm 12 point universal socket, but it isn't as common as you'd think when you start asking people if they have one to borrow.

Snap-on make a couple 10mm PowerStroke tools, a special waisted socket and a 6-point single-end wrench. I don't work on PS engines but both are very useful. The 10mm wrench is great for splitting turbine housings where those nuts often rust and round off.

I have the 60t USA MADE versions and they are great. Like Magnum Force said. These are underrated. Smooth and tough.

I came across these NOS Husky Pro snips.

I know their higher end line of tools were often rebadged quality brands.

These are made in USA, and appear to be rebranded Midwest.

They also have, "Imported by Home Depot of Canada" on the hang tag.
So perhaps they were only available in Canadian stores?

Also, they say "Pat. Pend." but i know Midwest now has patents on this design, so it must have been early production.
