Hello all. This is a hammer I came across. Some research says it was used to demolish ovens and furnaces. Was there anything that went into the ends that were hollow? Thanks.
Is there a name like Thor the like on it? Looks like a standard replaceable face hammer, one could put all sorts of faces from copper to rawhide, rubber, steel, nylon, etc.
Thanks for the response Zkling. No there wasn't any other name on it besides, "Greene Tweed & Defense hammer. There are some markings but I can't make them out.
I immediately thought of the semi-mythical $600 (or $435 or $200) hammers that the Defense Department was buying. I thought we might actually see a picture of one!
