Hello everyone. new to this form. just looking for advice on my first chest for home hobby use.

Ive got the guy at 160 and hes gonna deliver it to me . is that a good deal for this box? im willing to put some elbow grease into cleaning it up. he said all the slides and castors work fine. havent asked about a key as it will be unlocked in my basement all the time. just wondering if thats a good deal or i should hold out for something else? heres a link to the box

Good deal, as long as it has no problems. Lots of storage for a 27" box! Thin drawers are harder to overload.

I have same box,,got mine free but $200 is decent price for a good solid box. You don't find BEACH quality being pedalled by the usual suspects anymore.

my box rolls on shopping cart wheels

I have the same box along with the top for over 30 years, still going strong with no issues. Maybe not up to SO or Matco quality, but still great quality and solid build.

One thing I do not see mentioned, if it is important to you, the slides are not bearing slides. Still work pretty well if you lube them once or twice per year. Quite strong and like ZK mentioned, with the thin drawers, next to impossible to overload.

I think for $200, you would be getting an excellant deal (provided it looks as good in person).

I've got a couple of those, but mine are Craftsman branded with black drawers and full length drawer pulls. They're great boxes, on mine the drawers are nice and smooth (they've not had a rough life) except when really loaded. I had a 4" tall drawer loaded with sockets, that was too much, but otherwise they're great.

thanks lilredex . i actually contact these folks today. but they are unable to deliver to the guelph area. owning a chevy cobalt really limits me on transporting a new box. thanks for the heads up though. i would grab this in a heartbeat if i could.. the box i originally posted. the guy never came through

From Windsor?!! I guess not!

That box looks to be in excellent condition and a screaming deal at $150.
I wish it was close to me as I'd have it immediately to replace my 7-drawer Beach roller.

Yes, right after buying my house, I put out the call for a roller for my next birthday. I got one from two different people! I figured I was going to return one ... for about 15 minutes. I decided that one in the basement for house tools and one in the garage for car tools was the way to go. :rocker:

Now I've outgrown the garage one, it's now for hardware only.
