New garage. New concrete. Want to use the easiest sealant to apply and the best protection for the effort. Silax Seal or Siloxa-trek 8505. No shine please.
So I've been thinking about this product for my garage... seems it might do the trick?
http://www.legacyindustrial.net/products/densifiers/hd40-concrete-stainguard.html
And just to clarify, it will be a garage where cars will be worked on...
I also have a wood shop... Should I just get the Silax-Seal?

so the product in the link here will guard a garage floor against basic spills and keep it from staining from water based things?
does the floor have to be diamond ground if it has been power trowled?

Looking for a long lasting, high strength driveway sealer. I live in Kentucky so we do experience some freeze and thaw. We just had our house built and closed in December so this is the first application of a sealer. I have been trying to research Ghostshield but have been getting mixed reviews. Any suggestions please.
I like how the hd40 stainguard darkens the concrete and enhances the color. Is that product supposed to do that? some seem to not change the color and others do. Which product darkens and adds the shine? Thanks
I'm in the same boat, new garage with new concrete. Looking for something that I can apply without grinding or etching that will protect it from salt, oil, as well as other fluids. Need to cover 24x24.

Sorry dumb question the buffing is done after to improve the shine?
Ghostshield Siloxa-Tek 8505 is the best concrete sealer for your garage floor. Yep, I said it. The sealer you really want is the Siloxa-Tek 8505. Blasphemy you say? Maybe. The Siloxa-Tek 8505 posses what very few high actives penetrating natural finish silane/siloxane concrete sealers posses, fluoropolymers. Without this modern chemical structure, stain and oil repellency would not be possible. There are low molecular weight fluorinated polymers designed for oil repellency and stain resistance, and they are typically added to everything from carpets to fabrics. So lets recap, not only does Ghostshield’s Siloxa-Tek 8505 have this stain resisting, oil fighting ninja in it’s formula but its also a 40% actives silane/siloxane also making it department of transportation approved. Why is this relative to my garage floor, well if the DOT has guidelines for penetrating sealers then that must mean something, and if that something is important to someone who determines whats important, then its important to me. Especially if it translates into the durability and lifespan of my garage floor which is the whole point of this forum and this post. Now, you may think I am being biased here but I’m not. I also like Prosoco’s SLX 100, it’s sealer also contains a fluoropolymer, but after doing my due diligence and discovering that 5 gallons of the SLX 100 cost over $900.00 you can see why I have concluded that the Siloxa-Tek 8505 is clearly the best way to go.
Chris, so how long have you worked for ghost... ?? The chemistry is not proprietary, we all have a version similar. Nice 1st post.
