Continuing on from the previous post are my favorites - the double box end wrenches.

Vlchek - 1 5/16" x 1 1/4"
Vintage Craftsman - 1" x 15/16"
S-K - 11/16" x 3/4", 9/16" x 5/8", 1/2" x 9/16"
And the naughty sounding "Fukung" DBE wrenches. Both are SAE, but I didn't get the sizes in a photograph

The other CL ad I answered was for a "machinist tool chest with tools". There were no pictures and no price was given. I texted the seller and asked for more info. All I got out of him was $50.

Turns out it was a retiree who had recently moved to a smaller home and what he couldn't fit was put into a storage unit. Here's what I got for $50.

Pics 1 -2: Kennedy #520 Machinist tool chest.

Pics 3-7: The contents

Is pic 5 a dial caliper?
that little indicator( Central No. 200 dial indicator kit) is nice too, does it read in .0005 units, or .001?
either way, good deal.
I'd bet , just saying, that box along could sell for the $50.00 alone.
That reminds me when I hit the mother load garage sale,
HVAC man retiring, 3 cell Mag light, $1.00
Dayton 6" grinder, $15.00.
Good condition Channel loc ~ 10" water pump pliers, $1.00.
I forget all what else. but this guy was big time reasonable.

Yes, it's a dial caliper. It's an HF (or equivalent).

I didn't look to see how precise this one measures as I didn't have much time to look things over. I was definitely pleased with my purchase price. He had a bunch of power tools too, but I had no need or interest in what he had for sale.

I thought it was something like that. I was anxiously waiting for something personal and/or embarrassing to hit the thread. Sadly, no such luck!

Sorry to disappoint you..........:wtf:

here's a good one though..................

I was assuming wrong thread responses...
Sort of,
Actually I was asking if she was able to cancel the payments on that rip off
auto warranty deal she fell for. She owes me big time now.....lol:bowdown:
She is not a real blond, but she plays one in real life. :bounce:
Like the time her outside light next to the door shorted a wire behind the fixture.
I fixed the wire, but still no power to the fixture.
well a day later pulling my hair out ,testing all the outlets and such, I happened on the **Correct switch" for the light.

:willy_nilNot the one she told me it was .......................LOL

$50 but it's missing the lift table. Anyone have an extra?

Might be more of a project than I was expecting. It does have a Jacobs chuck.

Rileysan you should post back up here when you get those wrenches all cleaned up. I'd like to see how they fare. I've got a few drawers of ugly rusty SAE wrenches from auctions that one day I'd like to try to do something with.

Also just realized my favorite tool auction opens back up for the year next weekend! It's almost time that I can join you guys with the finds.

Depending on your needs, not sure if I would worry about a table. Just get a good heavy mill vise, set or even bolt it to the base and lower the head as needed. You'll get more work holding capacity than the stock table would be capable of supporting. IIRC those craftsman/atlas bases were pretty nicely machined.

Very nice assortment you've scored.

If that is an "80" variant, I agree, I have an 80 with no table, and adding the missing table almost seems a waste.

Its an 80, you can see the single draw bar handle sticking out in the pic.

I might what size pole and what size is the drill?

1 7/8. about 6" from the pole to the chuck.

I'll give it a shot with out a table, did they originally come without tables when they were sold?

I do think it's an 80, it does have the single handle on the other side.

Homelite gear case oil can, very good condition
Autolite cabinet with slid out tray both for 40$
cabinet is in very good condition minus one strip of rust on the lower side of the bottom doors, just lots of dirt. I will pressure wash it and clean it up tomorrow maybe sand and repaint the rust spot.

That's really nice, it's like a "write up desk".
(I too would have gave $40.,00 for them)
You said you may sand and repaint the rust spot on the bottom.
whats nice is maybe when you clean up the top doors, or even use some polishing compound on the top doors, you can maybe paint from that middle shelf divider down, so you won't have to spot it in.
unless you are good at spotting an area in.
(I know I am not:headscrat).................................LOL

As I thought the drill press is the early 1948 era "80", it is smaller. 1 7/8 column and 6 1/8" throat depth. In the 1951 catalog it is a Dunlap. The mid sized drill press for 1948 was the "100" which later became the "80" by 1951. That one had the 2 1/4" column and 6 3/4" throat. The large drill press in 1948 was the "heavy duty" "100". It has the 2 3/4 column and 7 3/4" throat.

And no, I don't have the table for that, mine is the later "80" with the 2 1/4" column.

Edit: I just checked the 1948 and 1949 catalogs and 1950 is when they changed the name and model numbers of the drill presses.

I am not either! I think that is probably what i will do, i would like to do just a rattle can job, so hopefully I can find a rustoleum color,
one of the rustoleum hammered greys is almost an identical match color and texture to the darker non white areas.

Sales are still scarce around here, but after waiting for the Painter to show up (still doing repairs from last winter), I was able to leave him alone and get to two this morning. Both were going to be slim pickings, but after two weeks I needed to get out of the house. The second one was a bust, but the first one had a few meager worthies buried under the junk.

I traded one whole Washington for the following :

unknown 20oz ballpein hammer w/ short handle (there is a stamp, but I can't read it)
Barcalo-Buffalo tack puller
Bonney #1165 11/16" combo wrench
SK-Wayne C-14 7/16" combo wrench
Easco 1/4dr QR 36tooth round head ratchet
Wiss #36 scissors (a little loose, need tuning)

I found this Wilton torco vice at a estate sale for $30. I looked it up quick but it said online this is the cheap line of Wilton vices that are worth a lot less then the good ones. Did i screw up not buying this for $30 or was it a good idea to pass?

That estate sale had crazy high spices on all there tools for sale. They had a lot of good stuff but they wanted $4 and up for a single wrench. Most of the tools were still there when i got there 2 hours after the sale opened and i only left with a few things i picked out of the $2 box. I wish i could go tomorrow when they do half off in the afternoon but i have to work! I would probably pick up the Wilton vice for $15 for sure.

Stopped at one sale today void of tools till I looked in the junk drawer in the kitchen and was very happy to see these NOS files way in the back hiding. She wanted 50 cents for them but i told her I only had a dollar and no change is needed.
