Found a bunch of Stanley Vidmar cabinets being sold as "Scrap" on GL. They finish in ~ 4 days.

Didn't a bunch of these go for tens of thousands a little while back on here? I would certainly like to own a couple few of these bad boys though

f that.. i used to manage a Uhaul store. their trucks ****.

just check out dontuseuhaul.com

Who are you kidding? There's hundreds of home depots between Ohio and New Hampshire, you could rent a box truck and fill it on the trip!

I live in Pittsburgh. Would maybe willing to pick up. Does any body know how these auctions work. For right price could get all. Any body close by also interested. No sense bidding against each other. Could hold if anybody passing this way in future.

yeah, we've been waiting on this one for a few weeks now. these will go for pretty good money now that it's posted further. there are a few small shops around here that pick this stuff up and flip it for $1000+/ea. i expect them to go for at least $500+ ea in addition to the 17% premium and 7.5% tax.

^ ^ ^ Do you have 16 ft tandem-axle trailer ready for GJ Group Buy ??? ;)

I did about a month ago. We sold the horse trailer and tow vehicle as we were not using it enough and it cost to much to keep.

Now I just have a little Tacoma. I must ponder this conundrum.

OK guys, I am going to see how this one goes. If these go for really cheap I am going to try to pick up several even if I have to rent a truck. I have a large-ish (25'x32') pole-barn/garage I am finishing (just needs electric and lighting at this point) that I can store them in. I also do not know what the actual worth of these are and since I just bought this property funds are somewhat limited so no promises until the auction officially starts in a couple of days; March 7th.

I am not sure who Keven is (I am only spotty on this site), but if he is close to me (Vinton County) we can try to figure out some logistics.

I'm from Dayton which is about an hour from Lockbourne. I will most likely be bidding on these. Looks like they are worth about 1500 for the five drawer and 2500 for the ten drawers. I think they are at the Rickenbacker AFB.

Let me know which ones you plan on bidding on and I'll do the same for you so we don't have a bidding war between GJers. I'll let you know if it gets too rich for my blood, incase you are still in on them. I am really just interested in 2 of the 5 drawers and maybe one of the larger ones depending on their cost. Anything else I would be picking up to pass on to other GJers. I don't know if you can see the other bidder's names or if it is more like eBay, but just for general knowledge, my username on there is the same as what I use on here.

I'll do likewise on the name. I am just looking for one five and one ten. I'll not be going very high. Maybe 100 or so. I will most likely get out bid, but you never know. It looks like a lot of interest here and so probably elsewhere. I will go for the first lot numbers of each size.

I'll go for the last lot numbers. The 2 last of the fivers and the last of the tenners.

Hey BCreek, do you happen to go to Dayton Hamvention?

Edit: on a related note, I will be in New Hampsire this July (getting married in my fiancee's home town of Lee NH) so if they go for a decent price I we could arrange for me to bring a couple up there for you SPN1025.

Did for several years. Haven't been there in several years. I was always more interested in the computer stuff. Father in law is a ham. He works it every year. Not sure how much longer it will continue. The venue is I think slated to close. Not too many other places around of its size at the same cost. Shame.

Yeah, I generally go out there for random tech that is being sold off. I them bring it into my classroom or to the STEM club I run (I quite my other science-field jobs a couple years ago and took an Ohio incentive program to become a high school science teacher). I have several friends that are very into HAM that got me interested. It would be a shame for it to continue, the place is always packed.

I'll be bidding on a few of them. fyi, a few abused ones went up a few weeks ago at local abbott auction, unnamed (so they didn't turn up on any searches), only "storage cabinets" and they went for $200/ea across the board. I'm pretty confident these will go for $400-500+ since they are in great condition and called out by brand. There's a flipper on phillipi rd and another in mt gilead that usually don't let these pass buy.

^ ^ ^ You guys would help our chances for GJ Group Buy to instead say . .
. . . . . . man, that Lockbourne location is a dump
. . . . . . it's way the hell out there
. . . . . . those cabinets are NOT worth much
. . . . . . probably only worth few bucks a drawer
. . . . . . that Buyer's Premium of 18% is outrageous !!
. . . . . . etc

No use helping the lurkers out there looking to snag our goods !!! :D

I would be willing to bet not one of them goes for under 300 bucks. Last ones recently in PA went for 450 to 700 for the tall ones .

I'm interested in purchasing a 5 and 10 drawer. Please let me know if there is something that I can do to help out. If someone were to grab them all, I'd be more than happy to have the item shipped to my area.

Well, these are already too rich for my blood. I think I will just buy one of the US General 44" boxes next time I'm at a Harbor Freight.

Wow, for the 10 drawer up to $450 or $540 . . not counting the 18% Buyer's Premium !! :scared:

Even worse, the 5 drawer cabinets are up to $340 to $360 . . . OUCH.

Yep, pretty much everything went for retail prices as expected. Even the (unadvertised) Lista rolling cabinet I was bidding on went for $700:

Lista

Did anyone score anything?

Been checking out the Vidmar/Lista price lately, resembles the stock market. Ebay/Craigslist sellers are posting at ridiculous pricing, trying to boost up the general selling price over $100/drawer; not many buyers but they still maintain the high prices. Could not believe what the units were going for on the government auction.

If a end user got some of the 10 drawer its not a terrible deal, even with the premium, given the condition. I've seen pretty ragged ones going for $100/drawer here. Damn near brand new for $100 a drawer, I'd be interested, knowing what just drawers costs. I'm trying to get drawers in my units that just have shelves. Didn't realize the smallest drawer starts at just above $100 and goes up from there.

I guess that means I should jump on these at $500 each OBO, then:

Yes, OSU, make them an offer for all three of them. You will fill them.
I knew that these would go high at auction.
550 each of the small ones. Bet the same bidder got all the small ones.
Better luck next time.
