Moved a freezer, toolbox, lateral file. Cleaned a bit. Framed the last of the soffit over the ductwork. Used up my scraps drywalling the soffit. Need 2 last sheets of 5/8 to finish the job.

Last night did my annual lightbulb change. 10 4' 40w florescent bulbs (5 twin tube fixtures) in a 12x20' space. Need sunglasses for a few days. :D

Today in my garage, I wasted several hours of my life! Thanks Advanced Auto Parts! :tantrum2:

"Perfect fit for your 2010 Jetta TDI" means "Not even ******* close". Tried to do my rear brakes and the pads were nothing like the old ones and didn't come with new clips. In addition the CarQuest rotors were so thick the caliper bracket wouldn't even fit over them.

Now I need to return all the parts I bought and buy them from idparts.com and wait for shipping.

On the plus side, I got to try out the Roloc bristle discs and they are awesome. This is a wheel hub with 115K miles on it:

Cast the lid for my son's little foundry...he wants to melt aluminum cans and try casting his little 3D prints. Then shot some gloss black paint on new to me floorboards and fork covers for my motorcycle.

it was a turtle wax kit. meant for dealers. We got it in a test product when trying to figure out what would be best. This one, didn't win. Too many steps and the sealer has something to be desired.

But it does the job and I got a better sealer to hold off on the oxidation.

might just be me, but I noticed they go yellow a lot faster after you clean them up then when they come off the factory floor.

Not just you. Once you clean them you have removed the factory coating exposing raw plastic. This means the degrade faster with no UV protection. This is why it is not a good idea to polish them until you need to, including clay bar.

Almost broke an arm last night, tripping over a dog, while putting my weight bench back. Tried to land in a push-up position, but right hand grabbed bar, which rotated like it does. Hairline, with a possible torn muscle or tendon. Hurts like crazy ...

Yikes, doesn't look so good either!:eyecrazy:

Those are pretty cool!

I've often wondered how all these electric bicycles and scooters don't get nailed for being an unregistered vehicle on a public road, like the cops used to do to all the dirt bike owners I knew.

I straightened up the garage, cleaned up the Olds, got the Cub CUT out of the garage, and then rearranged all of the vehicles in the garage. And after cleaning and straightening things up, the wife came down and packed it full of Christmas stuff that was in her garage. WTH????? :wtf: She's supposed to put it all away today, but it ain't happenin' so far.

Put a new ignition lock cylinder assembly in the Dodge Durango. Bought an uncoded cylinder kit with a full set of tumblers and coded it to match the existing keys. Hopefully, now that the keys can't be removed unless it's in the "Lock" position, the overnight battery drainings that were occurring when the key was removed in the "Acc" position, will cease.

changed front disk brakes for the reason of pulsating after only 22000km (13750mi). Previous Brembo, now ATE. Measured the lateral tolerances for the hub flange as well as the disks and for now it is ok.

Doing more clean up on the Vdub brakes. Finally got to the left side drums.
Something wasnt quit right when i removed the drum. Makes sense why the PO said it pulled to the right when he braked.
No clue how he even had brakes. No pinched lines or anything

Nice stuff. It's too bad they're closing.

Sorry, no pics.

Cleaned the inside of the daily driver. I plan on keeping the car for a long time so I clean it very well inside every few months.

But they "ARE" registered as bicycles, at our local village hall.
...really, they can NOT do more than 15mph...these are not like those fast cop bikes...more like pedal assist.

I get them being registered with your town, but my thinking is that doesn't make them motor vehicles that are legal for highway use, just like go carts and dirt bikes, that's all.

Worked on my "history project" that I hope to have ready. 1987 Firebird Formula that needs TLC beyond the owners budget. It has been a cluster for me, so many errors, sad.

Cleaned up and mounted a 1953 dated Dunlap 5244 vise on my bench. Penetrating and a wire brush get the surface rust off. A light coat of oil was applied and I greased the acme screw with some ridiculously expensive synthetic bearing grease that I had laying about.

One day, I'm going to stumble across a top flight Made in USA vise worth saving.
